Personal Narrative: My Essay To College

I have always been raised by a single parent, and while I have continuously received the necessities for school and life in general, luxurious items were not seen as important as the things we needed. My mom has always taught me and my brother the concept of things I want versus things I need, and I have always admired how hard my mother works to provide for me and my brother with love and support for our lives. This scholarship opportunity would greatly take some burden off of my mother. The financial support that college requires is extensive and has always been on my mind throughout my senior year. My college decision could possibly be a decision between the more frugal option and the college that makes me happy. My mom has always told me to go to the
Unfortunately, this school’s location is out of my current state, which requires me to pay out of state tuition. My mom was so dedicated to me going to this particular college, that she had started a house search in North Carolina in my sophomore year. However, after some consideration of my brother’s experiences and memories that he has made in Virginia, she decided to stay; she still stood strong on her feelings about me going to college. The tuition for North Carolina is twenty thousand more dollars than the other universities I applied to, which is twenty thousand more than my family can afford. She has supported me through my decision and has told me that god will find a way for me to get there, and this scholarship would make that possible. With my mom’s current financial situation, difficulties are arising. She is currently in-between jobs and the jobs that she is trying to apply to are offering her a lesser salary than her old job. She is doing the best she can to support my brother and I, and this scholarship would help tremendously with fees and typical college
