After weeks of practice, it was the day before the first game. Then, I wasn’t really worried about the game. But that night, I started to think about it. I was really excited and anxious for the game the next day. At the same time though, I was nervous for some reason just thinking about it. I didn’t want to mess up in front of my family and everyone else. Earlier that day I went to the store and purchased some really cool wristbands for the game. I wanted to look good for my first game. I even bought black eye stickers. I got all my stuff ready before I went to sleep because I was so anxious for tomorrow. …show more content…
It was gameday!
When I got up, I ate a outstanding breakfast. I ate a big bowl of fruit loops and eggs. It tasted like heaven. We got in the car and we were on the way to the field. When we got there all my friends and teammates were there. I saw everybody I knew when I got there. The team gathered up and coach told us to start stretching. We had to stretch good since we would be running alot. When we were done stretching Coach gathered us up. I began to get nervous.
Coach gave us a big talk and told us to “don't be nervous and just have fun.” The cheerleaders made a big sign for us to run out of. We ran through the sign onto the field. They got the ball first so we kicked the ball off to them. We lined up and kicked the ball off and i made the first tackle of the game. It felt amazing. We stopped them almost every they had the ball and the offense was doing great! We were all pouring with sweat, I could taste it in my mouth which was disgusting. All the sweat was worth it because we ended up winning the hard fought game 21-7. I was super
happy.
After the game we shook hands with the other team. The coach gathered us up together again and told us how great we played and also what we could do to get better. I talked to my friends then left the game. Since I did so good, mom took me to eat out. It took a while to get our food but just like the game it was definitely worth it because it was so amazing! I could not wait for the next game because I loved the rush and how excited it made me. The next game would be tougher though because this team would be better. Mom and I finished our meal and walked out the restaurant. The outcome of the day and the game was spectacular! I defeated fear that day at my game. So if you ever have a big day coming up where you’re nervous, don’t be afraid. Try your best and give it your all like I did because if you try your best, you’ll do great I was 9 years old when this happened but you can be whatever age to overcome obstacles. Don’t be afraid to overcome your fears. You’ll feel great after you do.
