A Narrative Essay On A Baseball Game
It was June 22 and it was a perfect day for a baseball game. My team the Diamondbacks, needed one win to get into the playoffs, and that clinching game was today. When I woke up the sun was coming up and I went to go wake up my dad so he could take me to the game. When I woke him up he looked like zombie who has not slept in weeks.
“Noah, why are you up so early?” he said, “I just want to make sure we are not late for the game.” I replied.
“Noah it's 7:30am and your game is not until 3:30!”
I did not realize how excited I was for the game. Since we were up so early my dad took me to the batting cages. We were the only ones there so every time I hit the ball it sounded like a bomb went off. I was hitting the ball well so I knew that this game was going to be a good one for me. Game Time was almost here and I was blasting Kanye in the car bobbing my head back and forth getting in gamezone.

I got to my team's field and saw the perfectly chalked batter's box and baselines. I went into to the dugout and saw the lineup and I was batting first! I had the same excitement in this moment as I do every time I get a king size crunch bar on Halloween. I started to warm up and I felt good. Game Time was coming up but it felt like forever. I was getting the feeling that you get when you put a hot pocket in the microwave and your are waiting for that very very long minute. The ump told us to go to the dugouts and we knew it was game time. I got my helmet and batting gloves on and grabbed my bat. I took a couple swings in the on deck circle then I stepped into the batter's box. I swung at the first pitch and heard a sweet pop off my bat and watched my line drive hit land in front of the centerfield man and I was on first base with a leadoff single. All the nervous energy I had was

If you have ever play football right when you step out of the car you smell the fresh cut grass. It was at the best field to play at. The 1 and 2 wear quarter was going excellent . I had like 5 touchdowns and rushed for about 130 yards in that game. Now it was my turn to run the ball.…

When the first game came I was extremely happy yet nervous also. We ended up winning the game by the score of three runs to two although I did not get to bat at all and was put in only for two innings of defense. I was disappointed that I did not get to play much but I was happy with the win. Our second game was the next day and I hoped to get more playing time then. When that day came it turned out that we were playing an extremely skilled team. We were losing three to one in the last inning and I still hadn’t played at all the whole game. One of my friends hit a double and then another one of my teammates hit a single to knock him in to score. The score was now three to two and we had a chance to come back. My coach then decided that we needed someone faster on the bases so he called for a…

After we warmed up it was time to play the final game. We were the home team so we were in the field first. I was playing center field and it was so hot outside that I felt like I was going to melt. When the umpire yelled, ”Play Ball!” I jumped up on my feet and was ready for the first pitch. On the very first pitch the batter hit the ball straight to me. I watched the ball go up in the air and I was putting my glove up in the air ready to catch the ball but then I lost track of it. My sunglasses did not help me with the sun. I was trying to find the ball, but then SMACK! The ball hit me straight in the mouth and I fell to the ground like a sack of…

BAM! The crowd roared after I did this, I just hit my first single of my career, and not the only time I will get another one. It felt musky while I hit it, and it was beginning to get cloudy in the distance as well. My friends Trevor, Collin, Evan, Andrew, and Michael congratulated me once I got into the dug-out. At the time I was only seven years old. I always remind myself that I have to work for things in order to accomplish things.…

As the sun rises up and the street lights turn on, only six more hours until my big game.I felt like my heart was going to explode and burst out of my chest. As I got out of my bed I Felt a cold bitter bitter feeling. So I walked slowly and calmly to the bathroom. After that I had went down stairs to the kitchen and poured a bowl of frosted flankes cereal. While I was putting away the milk my mom said ''why is your hand shaking?'' I said ''It's just too cold'' So after my mom had left I had taken my dogs out for a walk because I had thought maybe if I had just walked a bit I wouldn't be so nervous. The game against Easton really set the tone for my team and we only got better from there, winning almost every game that summer and most importantly we won Districts with little to no competition, but that didn’t mean we could just try and breeze by with no effort but we knew that and played our game. I fully believe baseball is the best sport and has made me into the great young man I am today. It taught me integrity, humbleness, appreciation and most importantly how to deal with failure. I sometimes sit back and try to think about what life would be like without baseball and I simply can not. Baseball has had such a big impact on my life I can’t imagine life without it or what I would do with my free time. The thing I love most about baseball is the love-hate relationship everybody has with it. Nobody has a perfect relationship with baseball, everybody questions the love they have for it at least twice a season and the only difference between the greats and normal players is the great’s stayed with it and worked on their craft instead of taking the easy way and just giving…

Softball runs in my blood, my dad played softball, my uncle played softball, my cousins’ play softball; it seemed as though almost every I knew played softball. I knew how to swing a bat before I knew how to walk. My dad and I would go to the batting cages just about every Sunday. I had previous played for the local team in my area but I wanted to be able to share the sport my family and I loved with the school I love. And although the friendships on the travel team were amazing, I could only imagine how great it would be to share this great sport with the people at my school. I thought all I would have to do is talk to the athletic director to get a team started, little did I know all the work and dedication that was going to be have to put…
