Finally, we stretched out. Mrs. Dennis reminded us of our teams and told us which teams were playing against each other. My team was undefeated even though none of us played club soccer. Today we played my good friend Calli’s team. I was on a roll today I had scored a goal and made the pass that allowed Jessie to score our second point. Alex (blue team) kicked it out of bounds so my teammate Kyle was about to throw the ball in. I stepped back to get open but as I stepped my ankle collapsed beneath me and I fell to the ground. I lay on the ground holding my ankle and a few people around me noticed and started to gather around me as tears started to stream down my cheeks. Mrs. Dennis saw the group of kids and rushed over to see what was going on. She pushed her way through the crowd to see me on the ground crying. She asked if anyone had seen what happened, nobody replied. Mrs. Dennis helped me to my feet and I explained what had happened as I limped across the field to the sideline. Mrs. Dennis checked out my ankle which had begun to swell and she decided to call an ambulance. By the time the ambulance arrived almost everybody in my gym period had come over to ask if I was ok but Mrs. Dennis had shooed them
