Christian Bulldogs. The team had just gotten off the bus to Liberty Christian and my heart was pumping. I
was ready to play some football. Following warm-ups, it was game time. Of course, the first play was for me, the tailback.
It was forty-four gorilla our most popular play. Immediately following the snap of the ball,I took the ball from the quarterback with
authority and confidence. I ran right, cut back to the left and was finally wrestled down after sprinting for a ten-yard gain. The fans were
as rowdy as ever. We ran a few similar plays to me, to feed my hunger for yards, that had similar results.

"Boom" was the sound the football made when being
kicked off to begin the second half began. Not for the Cadets, however. I could not get any running
room. Our quarterback could not find any receivers, and even worse our defense gave up 27
points before the game ended. I could only think of one word,
“Ignominious.” We were better than them, I thought. We had better athletes and were crushing
them in the first quarter.
Nevertheless, I was confuzzled about they beat us, but then I remembered a quote.
I don’t remember what his name was, but I remember thinking of that quote when the game
ended. It was, “ You cannot just win games physically, you have to win mentally as well.” I then
understood how truthful this quote really was. That quote was the only thing I could think about
from then on. I thought that is what we need to do to win. So when I got into the car to start my
journey home those words echoed in my head. “ You cannot just win game physically, you have
to win them physically
