As I hurled myself to the ground, I could sense something was not right. I had just finished running my leg of the 4x800 relay at the 2017 Mars Track Invitational. I looked up to see how the anchor runner, Bethany, was doing, but all I saw was dark,blurry spots. Bethany crossed the line,so I forced myself to stand and congratulate her as well as the rest of the relay team. I walked up to the top of the bleachers with the other members of the relay team, and I noticed that I was not walking straight. I lowered myself towards a seat. Everyone around me started to congratulating me, but all I could do was slowly shake my head. I had struggled with migraines in the past, and knew that today was going to be a harsh day for me. My dad walked me to the car, so I could lay down and escape the heat. I closed my eyes and fell asleep.
Right after I fell asleep, the car alarm sounded. My headache was now unbearable. I walked back over to the bleachers and sat down. The gun sounded for the 400-meter dash to begin. The relay began. By the time the third runner was approaching the end, we were only behind by a couple of meters. She handed me the baton, and I was off. My head was banging, but off of that,I thrived. I caught up with the girl in front of me. It came to the final stretch. I passed the girl and sprinted to the finish line. The relay team won first! The other girls on the relay cheered louder than any of the parents on the bleachers. We smiled with excitement and shock as we accepted our medals.
