Personal Narrative: My Trip To New Mexico
The best thing i did over the summer was go to New Mexico to visit some of my family and friends. Now i will tell you about some of the fun things that I did over in New Mexico. One of the days that I was there me my family and friend went to this river and we swam there. It was a little hard to swim because there was a really fast current. The best part about it though was jumping of the cliffs that were there the first time I was up on the cliff I was a little scared to jump off of it. Another fun thing we did at that river was go rafting it was very terrifying but also fun. Overall it was very fun spending time with my family and friends.
Another fun thing that I did over in New Mexico was explore an actual cave we go to see bats which was very fun and exciting. One thing that was really weird is that when we were outside it was hot and then when we went deep into the cave it got really cold and I did not have anything to keep me warm. There was one area that was like a really small crawling space and since I am very claustrophobic I felt like I was about to pass out. When we got to the bottom there was these big glacier like things but they like ice and rock mixed. There was also like little ponds inside it was really weird. After getting out of the cave we

We went fishing we all went dirt biking riding we went to deep river water park and we also went to the mall just to walk around and to buy shoes. We also went to one of my friends lake house and did a lot of fun stuff there. There was this giant bubble like thing and one person would get at the end of it and the other would jump onto the opposite side of it and it would send you flying which was a lot of fun. We also went long boarding down really steep hill so we got a lot of speed a got a little scared at the beginning but then i got used to it and it wasn’t scary at all. Overall i had a great summer and a lot of

I didn’t really do much over the summer. We went to Indiana beach, and I am not too fond of roller coasters, or any ride for that matter, except for at water parks. Last year in 7th grade we went to Washington D.C and saw the washington monument, lincoln memorial, we went inside the Capitol building, The Changing of the Guard at Arlington cemetery, saw The White House. That didn’t really interest me, I don’t even have any souvenirs! Even earlier in the year, we went to Buffalo, New York. We saw a football game (the team we were rooting for lost,(TO THE JETS!) and we got to see Niagara Falls.…

The year I turned six, my mom decided to migrate to Mexico. However, she was not able bring my one year old sister along. While my little sister stayed with my grandparents, my mom and I flied out to Mexico. I still remember the feeling in my stomach the moment I stepped out of that airport. I was an ocean away from my hometown. My first day of school was chaos. Everyone in the school was speaking in Spanish. I did not understand the customs and mannerisms. It was difficult to not feel as an outcast. The most complicated part was expressing my feelings, and my needs to the teachers. I lived in Mexico, Tijuana for six years, after becoming adapted to the environment, my mom came home one day and told me that we are moving to the United States.…

The place I grew up in could be considered above average. I had my friends that I would see every day and my family back at home. However, everything that any of us did would be over the top in every way possible. This became especially evident when my family and I would begin to plan a party or travel, this improvement of activities would be known as the “Mexican Way”. To be more specific, my family and I turned a normal New Year’s Eve party into a colorful and explosive fiesta. At first it seemed normal, we bought all the fireworks, started getting all the food ready for the party, and all my cousins and uncles started to arrive at my house; but as soon as it got dark everything started to get out of hand. As the first bottle rockets went…

I wake up in the morning feeling great. My cheese is perfect and I eat a healthy breakfast containing a piece of bread and a slice of my newly made fresh lamb cheese. I pack my rv, feed my pet, fill-up with gas and head out on the open road. My vehicle’s engine is purring almost like a kitten and I’m pleased to read a highway sign that sets the speed limit to 80 mph for the next 290 miles. I plan that I can get to the end of texas and be on my way in New Mexico in 10 h 48 min (733.9 mi). About halfway through my journey I decide to stop for lunch. According to a street sign i'm on S broadway St, tx and I find a lovely restaurant called George’s where I buy a gyro sandwich for $5…

Imagine being stripped away from everything you knew: your childhood friends; cousins you thought you'd always have with you, and places you called your second, third, or even fourth home. That is exactly what I went through when my family decided to move to Albuquerque, New Mexico. What's different about my experience was that it wasn't necessarily the move that flipped my world upside down but everything that happened in between. I was an awkward, shy, midget-like twelve-year-old when my family and I lost our home during the California money crisis. From that point on it was like a tumbling circus act. My parents ended up losing their jobs until finally my dad moved to New Mexico; leaving me and my family for almost a year. The last thing…

On Saturday April 13, 2013 I was walking through the parking garage on the USAA campus in San Antonio, TX to start my 4 hour work shift, I began to go through the turnstile and seemingly startled awake a bat. This bat began to fly and squeal in fear. It darted at my head getting caught in my hair a couple times. I started to scream and flail my arms about trying to fend off the nocturnal flying mammal in fear. During what seemed to be forever I was able to unlock the turnstile and exit the entry way but not before rupturing two discs in my neck. This incident caused quite the turn of events in my life. I had been working for USAA for 3 years and truly loved it there. I also lived in a beautiful apartment with my mother and two children and…

It was December 2010 and my family and I were planning to go on a trip to Mexico in December for Christmas break because me and my siblings were out of school. We were packed our clothes and ready to leave. We were waiting for my uncle to come to our house so we could go and get ready to leave. We left Houston around 8pm, and my uncle drove the Nissan Frontier truck and we went straight to 59 south towards Victoria. When we got Laredo around 12 am, we took a break at a corner store to put some gas in the car and buy something to eat, then we were ready to go. It was a long trip, I had needed to stretch my legs out. After we got our snacks, we left the corner store, and we headed straight to the border line. I…

During Spring Break everyone is usually flying or driving out to for vacation.I usually go to Florida or last year I went to Arizona, but this year I did nothing. The reason why is that my parents gave me a choice and that was to go to Florida for Spring Break or do nothing and go to California in the summer. I obviously wanted to do something different so I picked California so that means I stayed home during spring break so here is what I did during that week.First, my sister came home to visit from college as she is in Bowling Green and does not need to do a ton of driving. It is still great to see my sister and finally hang out with her. After my sister came home and went with my mom to do something I went out to hits some golf balls with…

One weekend we both went to go visit our dad. It is not much to do where he lives because it is a rural area with nothing but land. We were bored with nothing to do on this particular day so we went to a racing track for four wheelers and dirt bikes. We went with our step-brother who enjoyed riding them. This had seemed to remove the boredom away from our day.…

The summer of 2010 was the most significant summer ever because we went on two trips, to the Wisconsin Dells and to San Francisco. First, road trip to the Wisconsin Dells was one amusing event because we rented a car that summer and we drove there. It was the first time my baby cousin left the state; it was pretty cool. My mom was overwhelmed by driving so we stopped at McDonalds than my auntie drove the rest of the way: it was more fun than when my mom…
