Personal Narrative: She's Lessons?
“Liam come out here now!” I heard my Mother scream. She told me I was going to take horseback lessons for two years. Probably not enough to learn a lot, but I guess it could be fun. I told her I did not want to do it that long, so she would set up more lessons because that's how she was. If you did not want to do something she made you do it for even longer. It was definitely easier to get what you wanted since you could use it to your advantage. That was when she changed it to 8 years, which was great for me. “Kick the horse harder Liam. He will not move if you do not.” My instructor insisted. “I am trying how much harder can he take a kick to his gut!” I yelled over the hooves stomping on the cold, hard yellow sand. “He will not move …show more content…
She did tell me to pull back, but I did not listen. I could not hear her over the wind whistling in my ear. He finally stopped when a beautiful girl named Alexa came in the ring on a horse named Pixie. She ran right by me at least 29 times. Ok, maybe I exaggerated it was more like 9 times she ran right by me. I think my horse liked hers because whenever she would trot by he would stop and let her go by. Mother had signed me up to compete on the horse. She was even thinking about buying him since I had became good with him and he listened to me. But the problem was I was not the best rider at all and my mother did not know that and she would only accept me as her son if I did not get first place every time. This would be the toughest challenge ever. I knew i would not win so I asked her if i could have a year of competing without being disowned to get better at riding. But than Alexa who had always won first place felt bad for me so she started to teach me how to ride better on this certain horse. “You can do it Liam it is not that hard to get him to canter. He is just being stubborn give him a reason not to.” Alexa yelled over the sound of the birds …show more content…
I need your help still.” the girl asked. “I can no longer teach you, you have learned too much.” I explained. “How is that possible if I can not even beat you in one competition!” she screamed. “I can not teach you anymore I am sorry.” I told her but she knew I was lying. It was the championships so I had to win. So I started sending in a few animals in the ring. It is not like I am doing anything wrong. A few people had a few broken limbs but it is not my fault the horse got scared of the mice and the snakes. Of course Adrianna noticed me sending the mice and snakes out there and you could tell she was disappointed with me. She then told my mother and they both got red with anger. “How could you do something like that. You are just like Alexa. I do not understand what made you become this way and to think I was starting to get more feelings for you.” said Adrianna. That made me start thinking. That was when I realized that horseback riding was the problem it made me competitive. I had to do something. The problem was the only way would be to quit horseback riding which I did not want to do. I had to quit though since the problem came than. So I quit which would be better for everyone

Last January, this advice that she gave me my whole entire life, paid off. On a frigid January night, my friends and I decided to go sled riding. We went to an old street that had a towering hill that they closed in the winter. Two of my friends have trucks and we decided to sled down the enormous incline, and they would pull us up. At the bottom we were supposed to get in the bed of the truck, and then ride in the bed of the truck on the was up the hill. It was our last run and once to the bottom, Katie, Nick, and Mason decided to stay on the sled to ride to the top. I on the other hand, decided to get in the bed like we were supposed to do. That decision was a decision that was made because of my…

In this particular arena, and in most others there were cliques. Cliques in the horse world are very similar as to what they are during high school, you are either in or you are out. I was not considered part of the clique, because I did not portray the skills they were looking for. I was younger and when the better riders would not ride with me, the words were bullets shooting down my confidence. Consequently for them, it did not knock me down but raise me up.…

I grew up riding at my parents’ horse barn in Bozeman, Montana. I started riding when I was three and continued until I was jumping cross country jumps by age eleven. When I was old enough I started to learn how to jump and once I got the hang of it I was in love. Bigger, higher, faster, whatever I could jump I would. In September of 6th grade, my first year in middle school, I competed in my first big Three Day Event horse show in Missoula, Montana. My horse Sunny and I had a great performance, nailing all our jumps. My family owned Sunny for a little…

On Saturday, December 12th, 2015, when arriving home around ten o'clock from a long wrestling meet that lasted till around nine o'clock, I got home, then ate dinner, and then went on the couch to relax. My mom complained "You're always so tired after wrestling and you come home so late." After a little conversation, my mom got to the point where she admitted "I don't want you to do wrestling." Prior to when she said that, on the way home, my stepfather also admitted "Your mom and I have been talking about how you should quit wrestling." Eventually during the conversation my mom and I shared, it all made sense. I knew I wasn't ready to give up wrestling because of what i think it means to me, but of course I started crying. This is that moment…

From the day I got Enzo, to now, there have been something that has just made him stick out from other dogs. Enzo is a great caretaker and understands me more than anyone. Although a dogs memory does not last long, I know he will carry those memories onto his next life. There has been too much Enzo has gone through with my family for him to forget the past. I come home from work and scream, “Yo, Zo!” She doesn’t respond, but Enzo comes flying out of nowhere at starts wiggling his tail wanting to be scratched. As I go into the kitchen and pull out the chicken, Enzo jumps up and down as if he knows what we are having for dinner. I try to calm him down, but I can feel his heart racing. I find a little accident left on the rug from Enzo, and I could not be mad at him because it was my fault in the first place for coming home late from work. I talk in a smooth voice to Enzo so that he could listen to the tone of my voice and not confuse how I present myself in front of Enzo, and how Enzo is suppose to interpret me. Usually Enzo understands what I am saying, although I feel like I am talking to myself more than half the time. As I prepare supper for myself I start to watch a race that one of my friends taped a while ago of me. Man I looked so good out there weaving in and around cars. There was nothing like going to Texas or Ohio for a weekend and coming back home with a trophy in my hands. I decide to take Enzo out of the apartment to get some fresh air. I notice something is wrong with Enzo’s hip so I only walk him to the end of the block and back. Although it was a quick walk, I gave Enzo a treat and let him settle down in his bed, which was right next to mine. I call my friend Mike in hope for that he can cover for me tomorrow at work, because Enzo has had a past with his medical conditions so it was time to take him to the Vet again. I don’t understand why the Veterinarians can’t figure out what is…
