Negativity would be seen everywhere before the election. It was shown at the fountain when people would write in chalk who they do or do not like. If someone would write Trump someone else would write something vulgar around it; the same would happen with Hilary. If someone would wear a Trump shirt they would receive hate. If someone would wear a Hilary shirt,
they too would receive hate.
Honestly, the hate begins with the candidates. The candidates are constantly going at each other and hating each other. It makes it seem okay for everyone else to do. They bring each other down and have encouraged others to do the same. They both want the same end goal, which is to be the president. The way the candidates act towards each other makes me not want to vote for any of them. Why would I want my leader to be someone who puts someone else down in order to win? I don't. It isn't their faults either and it isn't just them that have done it. Election after election candidates do it and I hate it. Part of the reason they hate each other is because of the name they associate themselves with: republican or democrat. The way I see it, who cares who is on what side. If a candidate honestly wants what's best for the country, then that should be what is focused on. Instead, the whole thing is just like a game of who can win. That shouldn't be what it is about.
I honestly didn't think it could get worse after the next president was elected, but it has. Every day since the announcement I have heard people arguing about why Trump should've won or why he shouldn't have. I walked by a classroom in Stillwell on Wednesday and heard a girl screaming something about Hilary. That should not be what politics do to people. I just think the whole thing is messed up and crazy.
