I would describe myself as a determined, logical, independent and adaptive person who is friendly, open minded and empathetic.
Born in Fujian, China and separated from parents since I was very young has made me mature and independent since early age. I came to Hong Kong at the age of nine. Though I moved to a new city where the spoken language is not my native tongue, I managed to learn Cantonese in a few months time and entered into a well-known local secondary school through hard work and determination. During my secondary school years, I continued to thrive academically and achieved good results in the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination. I was accepted to the Chinese University of Hong Kong through the Early Admission Scheme and chose to major in Psychology.
I am a person with determination, prudence and resilience. Once a decision is made, I work hard to achieve the target. I received first honours in my undergraduate and joined Deloitte, an international accounting firm, after graduation. Shortly upon joining, I managed to catch up with the needed accounting knowledge and obtained the certified public accountant (“CPA”) qualification, I was highly recognized in my job.
After years of work and training in Deloitte and becoming a CPA, I have attained certain achievements in the field. That being said, I have always yearned to rekindle my passion for psychology and take a step forward in studying clinical psychology. Being a CPA provides me a secure life with stable income, but at the same time, I am aware of the fact that if I dwell in my current job, I will never be able to pursue my true aspirations.
