Personal Statement: Working With Children

I knew from a very young age that I loved working with children. A majority of my previous jobs have involved children whether that be working at a recreational program for elementary school kids, nannying, or working as a patient care assistant at a children's hospital. I have always loved working with children and it is such a privilege to be able to watch the children I work with in any setting grow and develop. I have nannied since I was sixteen and to this day I am still excited every time I get a text from a parent that they need a babysitter. Working with children is so rewarding and it is something I know I will love doing as my career. I now work at a children’s hospital as a nursing assistant and each morning I wake up excited that
I get the privilege to work in an environment where I am helping kids grow and develop. I have witness the joy, love, and resilience that children embody. It inspires and motivates me to come to work and provide the best care possibly for the patients and their families. I believe that working with children is something that I am meant to do and that the work I do with children is beneficial to them and their families as well. I am extremely passionate about the pediatric population and believe that I am equipped to deliver excellent family centered care to my patients.
