After thinking about it for some time, I decided that my three personal strategies to avoid stress and lack of time will be:
Saving as much time as possible
Analyzing how I spend my time on a daily basis, I noticed that there are some activities that take more time than required. I need to be more efficient while doing them, even saving some minutes here and there can make a difference. As an example, while having a shower I waste …show more content…
some time enjoying hot water, thus I can pay attention to it. But there also activities to be avoided that are just a time-waster, such as chatting about everything and anything with friends.
Focusing and eluding distractions
Concentrating while studing is the key to fulfill the requirements on time.
If I can be completely dedicated to the work I'm doing, I will certainly . Distractions are constituted by dozens of things that can prevent me from focusing. My smartphone for instance, that should be put on flight mode. In my case, biggest distractions come from inside me. I tend to wander off, having ideas and checking about them in Internet, etc. I need to stick to what I'm doing, making my environment as much clean as I can. For instance, removing all the stuff from the desk will help in not giving me arguments for distraction. However, there are also external distractions, such as noises, family members claiming attention, tasks that need to be accomplished exactly in that moment. I have to deal with them, learning to say politely "no" to people, and planning tasks according to my studies.
Dealing with stress
I tend to be stress oriented. Elements like external distractions or momentary impediments to my studies can be a big source of stress to me. I already started my stress journal, as suggested in this week's readings, and I must say that it can be helpful. But I need to write it down every single day and be dedicated on it. Another solution that works well is autogenic training. I learned it long time ago and I am still practicing it once in a while. I intend to make it become a daily
activity.
These are five of the words I wasn't familiar with:
to fritter = "Waste time, money, or energy on trifling matters" (fritter something away, n.d.). to declutter = "Remove unnecessary items from (an untidy or overcrowded place)" (declutter, n.d.). facilitator = "A person or thing that makes an action or process easy or easier" (facilitator, n.d.). to pinpoint = "Find or identify with great accuracy or precision." (pinpoint, n.d.). to binge = "Indulge in an activity, especially eating, to excess" (binge, n.d.).
