Persuasive Essay On Attending College
College has always been in the picture for me. Although for people like my mom and dad, they didn't get the opportunity to think about college. They grew up thinking that working was always more important than school. On my mom’s side of the family, they believed that men were more superior than women so the women had to spend their times working to fund the men's educations. Based on my mom’s story, school has been something that i value deeply. I believe that women in America take the opportunity of education for granted and they forget that there were women like Susan B. Anthony and Elizabeth Cady Stanton, who fought for Women's Rights. So I want to attend college because women were given the opportunity to prove that that they have potential to do something greater. …show more content…
The Women’s Rights activist fought so the girls and women have equal rights to show they had something to offer to the table, to show they were as intelligent as the male. So based on their fight and my mom’s story, I believe that I have been given the opportunity, which many women back then didn’t have, to get an education. With this education, I hope it will open up doors and give me the chance the prove that I can succeed too. Attending college will allow me to show the world that I am just as smart as the males. Also attending college will allow me to find my true self along the way. Many research shows that people who attend college will usually succeed. However, people like Steve Jobs and Mark Zuckerberg dropped out of college; but still succeeded. With success like theirs, it requires finding who you truly are before actually finishing college. For me, I’m still trying to find my true self. So attending college will allow me to show the world that I have potential and it will also allow me to find my true

One college that a transfer student may be looking at is Buena Vista University. BVU offers a wide range of academic options for transfer students to finish their degrees conveniently in a small private setting that can be made affordable through financial aid and scholarships. College tuitions are way too high in our country. Colleges say that SUNY tuitions are more affordable, but it's not. SUNY college tuitions range between $35000 to $60000 per school year, which is a lot for a young adult to take on. Fortunately, there are scholarships that a student can apply for. However, many students apply for these in hopes of helping pay their tuition but only a few students get selected for the scholarships. If you are one of the lucky ones, typically they don’t even cover the whole college tuition. For those parents that live from paycheck to paycheck or just any middle-class parents sending their sons and daughters to college is a difficult task.
