April 26 2016 Grades Before Sports intro
This is about grades coming before sports. Sports are fun but they are not as important as grades. Grades are a really important you need to be smart if you would play a pro sport you would need to go to college to play the sport the you like. If you want to go pro one day then you better keep your grades up so you might get a scholarship. A collage will not accept you if you don't have the grades to go with the skill.
Reason 1
One reason that kids should have to have good grades to play sports is because they shouldn't have to compete with somebody who has bad grades. According to Paula Lavigne. Being able to have bad grades would allow them to fail school and play sports. Sports are a reward you have to earn. Put it this way you could have went to a collage of your choice but you have bad grades so now you are flipping burgers instead of playing college sports. You could have been living the life but you started to slack off and fail now

School should come before sports. The average gpa is 3.0 so you should be able to keep the 2.0 gpa. “Because if you cannot have good grades, why should they let you play? Why do they need good grades.” They should not have to compete for a spot on the team when the have work hard to earn the spot on the team. While other kids have poor grades and still get to play as they do nothing to work on their grades. If there is a kid who is not good at a sport but they play and have bad grades they would not get to play but if that kid was the best player he would get to play because he is good on the field. That’s not fair for the other kids who want to play but can’t due to bad grades. That would be like giving a smart kid a piece of candy if he got an F on a test it wouldn’t be fair for all the other not so smart kids who got an F. That is the same thing it just would not be

You earn recognition, all your playing time, and a starting position through hard work. I grew up playing all kinds of different sports. I played baseball, football and later in life I started to swim competitively. In each case, I had to learn to take the responsibility to do my part—for myself and for my teammates. Practice was mandatory and took priority over other interests of mine. This was hard for me, since I missed out on school dances, family activities and other fun events because I had to be at practice everyday. It also forced me to learn good time management skills as I started to balance school, a social life, daily two-hour practices and games on the weekends. The coaches can only teach so much and, while they tried, couldn’t force me to learn my plays or study in my off time. I knew my hard work was paying off when my coach would say, “Good job Gunnar, I’m proud of you!” That one sentence made me realize that my hard work had paid off and that I should continue to work even harder, not only in sports but also in everything I…

Sports are beneficial for instance, athletes who play sports tend to have better grades. Athletes who play any type of sport have less time to do homework, accordingly they are better at time management. They maintain an average GPA of a 2.0 or they can't play sports, unless they boost their grades back up. One researcher says, "High quality organized sports helps students earn better grades"("Youth Sports"). This quote states athletes involved in extra academics are able to earn better grades. Sports push athletes to do their best in school all over the nation. If somebody were to play football for Ridgeline High School, that student athlete…

This also goes along with other sports played in gym class. Some students are great volleyball players, others are great football players, and others are great hockey players. I do not believe that every student deserves to be graded on every sport. I personally would play super competitive in floor hockey because I loved the game. I would get an A everyday for the two straight weeks we played it. When it was time for volleyball I still gave it my all but my letter grade was a C-. This made me really upset and I just felt like, why should I try so hard for it not to…

Learning, and get an education this is a very important thing in life you need it to have a good job so that you can have a family and support them. So I feel in school you must have good grades in order to play any type of sport, and if you do not then you should not be playing. A couple reasons I feel like this is for starters kids pay more attention to sports then they do in class. This is not how this should be. Kids should love to learn something new every day at school, but in some school that’s not the case. Kids need to learn.…

Nearly 65% of children say they participate in sports to be with their friends (Statistic Brain). Sports were established so that the individual could not only exercise, but also to compete against a rival. Just as there are individual sports, there are team sports in high school. The idea of a team sport is that every single person on the field or court must work in unison to have the greatest opportunity to win. In addition to the increasing popularity of sports, the average child’s age when they join a team is decreasing. For example, the age that a child joins a basketball team has shifted from fourth grade to first grade or even kindergarten in the past decade. One reason high school sports aren’t beneficial is because they create a lot of pressure. According to the video “Do Athletes Face Unnecessary Parent Pressure?” by KCRA, sports are sometimes the only way students can get into a good college and be able afford it. This puts a lot of pressure on the athletes to perform at their best 100% of the time. Experts say that your child's entire team will suffer if the parents are pressuring their kids (KCRA.com, “Do Athletes Face Unnecessary Parent Pressure?” ). This fact is important because it proves, when parents put pressure on their children it does not benefit them, in fact it is actually setting them up for life in an unhealthy way. This shows that the pressure from sports is not good and not worth it.…
