The US has 1.2 trillions of dollars worth of student loan debt . High national debt has many consequences including slowing economic growth and rising interest rates. many think that making college education free will make it pricy for taxpayers but actually it won't if instead of adding more taxes to everybody else, we instead just tax the multibillion dollar companies that are given countless tax breaks every year and who are also responsible for the economic crash in the first place. Even if we did have to pay for it with our taxes then we could still do it easily. According to Jordan Weissmann It would only cost about 60 billion dollars extra money that the us government doesn't already spend on education. If you take the over 3 hundred million people that live in the us today and divide that by the amount needed it would really only be $17 a month. I every person in america decides to instead of eating at some cheep retrount that will make you fat anyways spend that 17 dollars on education to allow an entire generation of potential geniuses who would otherwise be forced into some minimum wage job get an education without having mountains of debt.
