The show takes place in Chicago, Illinois in the 1920s. It starts with Roxie Hart's cold-blooded murder of Fred Casely. The characters are the ones that set the scene up by doing somethings that leads to them doing something else. For example, at the beginning of the episode a little boy is lost and then found with a finger. This sets up one of my favorite scenes where Adrian and the little boy are walking in the park to find where he found the finger and Adrian gives him disinfecting wipes after he touches something dirty.…

    2. To me the play meant a lot, because it showed the many dysfunctions of families, and consequences if they didn’t resolve them. And I know my family like all families have their problems, and it was funny to relate to the sister, and watch her forget things, because I am always forgetting things, also I play the cello so I guess I found it easier to connect to her because of that aspect. Also I sometimes end up being the voice of reason, when my family tends to get into it, and I am on the sidelines, so I found myself drawn to the son, as he narrated, and how neutral he was about everything, he was the only sane one. And my dad isn’t as bad as Boo or his father, but he likes to have a drink with dinner every night, so it is something that could happen if he drank more, but probably wont. I…

The novel’s setting plays part in the nature of the corruption explored. Despite almost all of the characters having Midwest hometowns, they all meet in New York, a state famous for its bright, bustling island cities, like the setting of the novel, Long Island and New York City. Wolfsheim is a mysterious man, the reader learns little about him outside of his seedy underground connections, and that he is a…

I will start off with the things I did like, which unfortunately isn’t much. I thought that the set was beautifully done. The set designer did a great job at creating the diner, while accommodating the need for the outside, as well as an upstairs bedroom. I thought that the set was interesting and it definitely helped to keep my waning interest. The color scheme used for the set was also a good choice, it felt like a diner. It is unfortunate, however that I had the time to notice the color scheme of the set. I think if I had been more invested in the show I wouldn’t have had time to look at the set quite as in depth as I did. It is always the mark of a bad play, when the first thing you think when you get up is “wow…

    3. The production affected me very personally. I have NEVER cried in a show before because I have never really had an extreme connection to the content, but in the funeral scene I totally broke down. I kept looking around to see if anyone else was crying in that scene! The whole topic of death is, for a lack of a better vocabulary word, weird. It makes you experience so many different emotions that you are not used to on a daily basis. Such strong emotions that change your views on life and the person or animal…
