My Mom always said“ no, how about baseball or basketball?” Of course I ended up playing those sports,but I wasn't happy because I wanted to play football and nothing else. The years went by and I still did not play a snap of football and it was already the fifth grade where most kids have already played for years. Finally on my last plea my parents let me play football in the sixth grade. I played football in a youth league called PAFA (Palatine Amatuer Football Association), This is where I was taught proper technique and how to play the game safe. Finally, I was done with youth football, next up the big stage, high school football. This month is crucial for anyone who wants to get a hint of playing time on Friday nights. Any of the guys who play football will do anything to get on the field, if a coach asks you to play a position they will do it just to get playing time. In my situation, I had two seniors fighting for my spot on the offensive line. I knew that both of them did not want to sit on the sidelines and watch some sophomore play in a spot they could of had.
