1. Every little girl's graduation from diapers to the potty is always a very important moment--and one to make both parents and toddlers proud! In The Potty Book, Hannah needs to have her diapers changed so she can go out and play. Then mom and dad bring home a big box, and Hannah is anxious to open it up and see what's inside. Is it a rocking chair? A bed for Teddy? No, it's a potty--which means that it's time for Hannah to graduate from her diapers. This gentle and humorous little story is charmingly illustrated and told in verse. Little girls will enjoy looking at the pictures and having the story read to them. Meanwhile, they'll start getting the idea that it's time for them to grow up, exactly like Hannah. So that at last, they'll be able to say--"I'm off the potty!"…
• Move from nappies to being toilet trained - Some children move effortlessly through this transition with not much support, for others it is more difficult recognising the signs of needing the toilet, for them it can make accidents and the events that could occur in response to an accident something to be dreaded and feared.…
We invite children to sit around the table and have their juices to get refreshed. Ask them if they need to go to toilet. We remind the little ones who are on potty training more often and change the babies nappies any time it is…
It is great that we have at least one open, but there are students who have bladder conditions that may not have enough time to get to the other side of the school. In Parents magazine, it is discussed that limited bathroom use is not only an inconvenience, but it is also a health issue, “children who suppress the urge to urinate are also prone to infections” (Hodges, M.D.).…
1d- Throughout the day the children express their needs to us, they ask to go to the toilet they may need help and they have to express it for us to understand.…
Within this quarter, QDDP informally observed participant’s progress on a daily basis as the information was gathered for this 90 narrative and communicated by staff to include follow up with staff on participant’s progress on loading/unloading dvd player, washing hands, and pulling up her undergarments and wiping/cleaning the kitchen counter. During observation on Mar 14th, QDDP directly observed Sherri demonstrate her ability to load and unload the dvd player. Unfortunately, this task was not the task of the day. She grab the dvd and threw it on the floor and walked away. Staff waited and tried to redirect her to the dvd player and she refused. On April 12th, QDDP directly observed Sherri, as she demonstrated her ability to pull up her undergarment after using the restroom.…
At the age of six, I struggled to find the meaning behind all of the little iron on patches, and what they had been leading up to. The Gold award, awarded to 5.4% of eligible girls, is the most prestigious award, above a silver and bronze. It definitely isn’t attained without hard work and dedication. The guidelines of the project are clear: you need to exemplify leadership qualities and create a lasting impact in the community. My idea to work with the elderly and the youth group from my church came immediately. Observing my community, I noted that the elderly and youth don’t communicate or interact with one another. I believe that those types of relationships are essential in life, due to my own connection with my grandmother. She is one of the funniest people I know, and even though she is 90, we can still connect on a personal level and laugh at just about anything together. I want others to experience that for themselves, because even though they may be older than us, they are still young at heart, and have all led interesting lives with stories beyond…
However I believe that a person lacking experience in geriatrics or lacking experience with people with limitations could benefit from this project. I used this project to help introduce my children to our aging population and the assisted living environment. I enjoyed bringing them with me to interact with the grandfriends. I wanted them to experience the benefits of bringing joy to others.…

1. If a colleague what failing to comply with safeguarding procedures, I would keep a record for over a week of the incidents and record them. Then I would go to my supervisor and explain everything that happened into as much detail as I possibly can.…
Although I will never be able to resolve underprivileged children’s circumstances, I hope that the time I have spent with them has provided some happiness and fun-filled learning experiences, and most of all, inspire them to continue this practice when they are…
I was granted the opportunity to work with the children and teachers of Coal Pit Learning Center for community engagement week. I worked with the children throughout the week to provide relief to the exhausted teachers and be a person who can look over the children. I was gifted the opportunity to work with a variety of children of ages from 3-5. My first day was tiring, but full of excitement. The children were a mix of shy and excited as we walked into their classroom for the very first time. I thought to myself, as my 3 classmates and I were thrown into the chaos of a group of 3 and 4 year olds, what I should be doing to help. But there was no need for the teachers to explain to us what to do, the children immediately gave us jobs of playing with them or making us watch them race their cars around the room. The week turned out to be a wonderful learning experience for me and the people I worked with.…
During my eighth observation at the Child Study Center (CSC), I walked in and went straight to the four year old room. Once I got in the room I notice that all the students were on the carpet listening to a College student reading them a story. I sat back and watched and listen to the students and how they were interacting with someone different reading to them at whole group. After the story the college student had an activity for the students to do that went with the story that she had read. The activity that the students had to do was to make a puppet that sat on a stick that they could use and play with. After some of the students finished drawing and putting google eyes on the pictures they then took them to an adult to get a stick taped…
Setting: I observed Anna, age four years and five months, on March 24, 2006, at St. Andrew's Lutheran Church Preschool. I observed for two and one-half hours from 9:15 am to 11:45 am. The preschool has three teachers and a full enrollment of 24 children, ages four and five, on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. They also have 24 children, age three, on Tuesday and Thursday. On the Friday that I visited, there were 21 children in attendance. There is a large enclosed play area outside. There is a large covered sandbox area with several toys including large plastic scoops, a large metal spoon, plastic bowls, shovels and buckets, a large play structure with a slide and climbing apparatus, a log cabin play house with several tools; such as plastic hammers, wrenches, and saws. There is a big sidewalk that goes around the perimeter of the yard where the children ride the tricycles. There are six tricycles but they were not out for use on the day that I observed. Inside there are many areas for playing and learning. There is a small room that has a cradle, dolls, blankets, dress-up clothes and shoes for girls, child size furniture; table, sink, dishes, and other kitchen items. Also kept in this room is a large roll of paper that can be cut to any length for drawing and painting. In this room is where one of the teachers meets for story time with her group of eight children. The large room is divided into two parts for the other two teachers and their groups when it is story time. The accordion divider is opened when the individual group time is over. In the large room are many different activity stations; easel with two sides for drawing with markers and paints, a fish tank with several fish, papers and crayons, table with small wooden puzzles with numbers on the pieces, small hard rubber birds, owls, and pelicans, a table with a hard plastic surface that lights up, a table with rocks and a magnifying glass, a table with Legos, an area for wooden…
