Prejudice And Racism In The Angry Eye

Racism is a major problem involving minorities. Racism involves the people in power to think of themselves as superior and target people who do not fit the label. They are prejudice, discriminative, and very awful to the minority. It is a big problem in the United States and it will forever be an ongoing problem. A majority is not due to the amount of people, but the amount of power they hold as people. A minority is any group of people in society that shares a common characteristic in which it lowers their status in society. Marginalization is the treatment of an individual, group of people as insignificant. To which it means inferior to the superior. “Society labels certain people outside of the norm. They push them to the edge” (Vocabulary)
Throughout the video The Angry Eye Jane Elliott also did an experiment with college students in which made people emotional, and helped to open their eyes to see what people of color experience daily. She used the same example of blue and brown eyes to show who was in power. She created the scenario to make it seem as
Most people just think I am white, but I am much more than that. I am a Jewish girl who was born raised and practiced Judaism. I was marginalized because I was not like everyone else. I didn’t celebrate the holidays of the majority of people, so they looked and frowned upon me as if I was inferior. I was labeled as an outsider because I never fit in and no one was of my religion and race. It was very difficult being put in this situation for many years. I was discriminated for many years and the change of environment really helped me because people at the University accept me so much more than they did at my high school. I would not change how I experienced being marginalized and discriminated for 6 years because I learned how to accept everyone as they are regardless, and I always knew I was accepting.
