Prerequisites For Physical Therapy
I am an Exercise Science major and I have been taking the prerequisites for Physical Therapy programs. Included in those are a lot of health related classes such as anatomy and nutrition. These classes all intertwine in a lot of ways and have really helped me make this class easier since I've already heard a lot of the terminology. It makes me wish I had only taken it sooner because it probably would've made those classes a lot easier. Before I took most of these classes I shadowed at a couple of rehabilitation clinics and found myself wondering what they were talking about. They used words and abbreviations I had never heard before and I would just try to figure out what they were saying. I plan to do more shadowing and get a job as a rehab
tech next semester and I know I will be better prepared to understand what is going on. Medical terminology is a language all on it's own and I can only see it expanding more and more. As well as doing away with terms that no longer apply.
