EXERCISE 1
A. MANAGEMENT IN THE NEW MILLENIUM
In this modern world , the management aspect is one thing that can not be separated from humans. Management is one or the other form has existed in every nook and corner of the world since the dawn of civilization . Management is a social process in line with human development and the surrounding community . Management has existed for a long time thought it has not been conceptualized . The practice of management dates back to the early days when man first learn to live in groups , long before the advent of technology , transport , communication , government , man existed and managed their affairs in organizational forms like family . Management attributed the management of a family , community or organization through to the management of a country . Management is much more than what mangers simply do to get work done through employees . Today , we can manage ourselves , our time and many other activities that don’t require one to have a formal managerial role or even to manage people . In modern, post – industrial organizations , all employees need to manage . Self-managing teams use complex system to help them manage their own work , and precise performance measures are openly accessible . Knowledge workers don’t need to be told what to do , and often , they knows better than their managers .
