Postproduction is the final step in the production process and it can have multiple purposes. The producer must supervise the editing process to make sure it is in the guidelines, look, budget, and on time. I know this is crucial because if it is off time, then it messes it up. There must be continuity in the postproduction. If it is a live production there will be little postproduction work, but things will need to be handled before the broadcast. Remote productions require more work because the equipment has to be unloaded from the unit and on the field. The crew has to make sure they are taking care of themselves and wear the appropriate clothing for the weather. I learned this when working a football game.
