Progressive Obtention Of Leadership Development
Leadership invariably is determined by the result of actions taken, and ultimately, the success of such. Leadership development is a step by step process; each step leads you to more opportunities that will leads you to your goal as a leader. Leadership development occurs in the institutional domain and is built upon in the operational domain. Over all, the progressive obtention of leadership development is based on self-development. Through this development, there is a great need for using one or more domains together. Between your personal life, ROTC Business, and school you will gather the skills for professional leadership development which is vital for any future career.

One method is the institutional domain; this type of domain’s focus is to give individuals a basis of leadership capabilities. Institutional domains offer leadership development resources usually within in a program or training course. The army offers Army centers and schools that aids in initial training, and professional military education for Army Civilians, Military Leaders, Soldiers. The advantages of this is the soldier will be trained in a professional environment and building. This domain provides mission command, adaptive individual, proponent, and functional training, helps with building a competent soldier and leader, and teaches the army learning model. The disadvantage is this domain does not necessarily include the structure of teaching and implementation of learning leadership. The soldier would need a different style that can give them more detailed training. This domain and training method is Operational Training domain. This training style usually takes place in training center, during group exercises, mobilization centers or even when …show more content…
The disadvantages of this this domain is that it offers the practice for a hands-on experience and gives more detail but it lacks the soldiers own capabilities that will also determine the success of the soldier. The last domain that will be discussed today is the Self-Development Domain. This domain entails the primary responsibility on the individual being developed. This Domain demands an individual that is goal- orientating for learning, self-aware, and situational aware. Self- development domain works to make sure the leader is competent in institutional and operational learning and meets their own personal objectives. The advantages of this domain are that being it offers detailed self-development experience; continuing throughout the career. Guided self-development that gives the leader training in how to be responsible for his technical, and functional responsibilities in his career. The Self-development domain also included personal self-development this ensures the individual can define his objective, and passion in life and connect other functions of his life together. The disadvantages in my opinion are minimal. The army provides not only a structure setting but a structures training system both professional and personal that benefits the

    Leadership is defined as the process in which an individual influences the group of individuals to attain a common goal. The goal is attained by mutual cooperation and behavior. A leader has a sense of positivity and directs others to reach the specified goal. In The Junior Reserve Officers' Training Corps, (JROTC) the leaders teach us how to become better leaders. They also teach us to build character and leadership by providing guidance and putting us cadets in a position that we are not accustomed to. This helps us adapt to new types of things.
