Pros And Cons Of The Civil War
In the election, Abraham Lincoln became the president and had many ideas for the country. However, all of the commotion of the South being separated from North caused a Civil War. In the Civil War, the North had many advantages. For example, they had a lot more people than the South. However, that did not stop them from fighting. However, as expected, the South lost the war.

In conclusion, slavery and the Civil War was a hard and terrible time in American history. The African Americans must have gone through a hard time, especially the way they were treated. However, without this history, America wouldn't be what it is today, the land of the free!

The civil war began with the attack on Fort Sumter and the war was inevitable according to text. "Both parties deprecated war but one of them would make war rather than let the nation survive, and the other would accept war rather than let it perish, and the war came." The Confederacy (South) wanted its independence. The Secession led to the Civil War. The victory of Union in the Civil War was a product of many factors. Yet three most notable ones are: the “simultaneous pressure” of the North, offensive-defensive strategy of the South, and the crucial victory of the North in the Battle of the Antietam.…

Abraham Lincoln is most always associated with the Civil War. But, he was not elected through a majority of the popular vote. In fact, with only forty percent of the popular vote, he wasn 't even close to a majority. His Republican platform reached out to many groups, but left out the South. Many southerners thought he was an abolitionist, although he did favor monetary compensation and a Union. As a result of southern fears over Lincoln, he was not allowed on the ballot in ten southern states, and many states threatened to secede if he was elected. His election prompted the first state, South Carolina, to secede from the Union, and started the Civil War. This contributed to the growing rift greatly, in that the South not only felt their livelihoods were being threatened through the potential loss of their slaves, but also had a sense of disenfranchisement at the polls, because the minority candidate won. But, even though if Lincoln had not been elected, the Civil War would have been delayed, Lincoln was really just the straw that broke the camel 's back. The south was looking for an excuse to secede, and Lincoln gave it too him, which makes this election a relatively minor event in contributing to the civil war.…

Because of this, the Confederate States was formed to protect the institution of slavery and fought the United States for years resulting in the fall of the Confederacy.…

British POV: From the very start, the British had a huge advantage. Not only did they outnumber the American upstarts three to one, but they had a highly trained professional army of their own as opposed to the ragtag, mostly self-taught colonist soldiers, as well as the German mercenaries, American Tories, and many Indians the British employed. England’s wealth greatly exceeded that of America’s, as did its naval strength. For much of the start of the war, in fact, the Royal Navy regularly obliterated the small American ships that crossed it However, England was not as infallible as it seemed. The vigilant, resentful enemies Britain found in the Irish and French were waiting, watching for a chance to strike back. Their king, George III, was a poor leader and and overly…
