Psychological Operations By Phil Waguihh Summary
Both “Psychological operations”, by Phil klay, and “On the rainy river”, by Tim O’Brien highlight the idea that one’s family is not necessarily made up of people who are related by blood. In “Psychological operations”, the narrator, Waguih, meets a woman, Zara, who he is able to connect with. He is able to tell her the full story of what happened to him while he was at war without her attacking him verbally. This is in sharp contrast to how Waguih’s father reacts; he kicks Waguih out after hearing the story. While Waguih is unable to tell his father information that is very important to his personality, he is able to tell a woman who he barely knows. This in turn shows that someone can have a stronger connection to someone who is not related
