I will present a brief biography of Lindsay Lohan and then examine her personality from the perspective of Freud‟s Psychoanalytic Theory
Biography
Lindsay Morgan Lohan was born on July 2, 1986, the daughter of Donata (Sullivan) and Michael Douglas Lohan. Followed by the birth of Lindsay were two brothers, Michael and Dakota, and a sister, Aliana. .The start of Lindsay‟s career began as a Ford Model at three years old. In 1996 she obtained her first major role in the television soap opera, Another World, and then moved on to Disney‟s motion picture The Parent Trap and she went to do many movies as a young adult Lohan‟s childhood was professionally exciting and personally difficult. For the most part Lindsay‟s schooling was at public schools until she was a junior in high school, at which time she was schooled at home. Although Lohan lived a glamorous lifestyle, her childhood wasn’t too mentally healthy. Throughout most of her childhood her father was not around. He was incarcerated for three years for fraudulent trading and assault during Lindsay’s formative years age 4 to 7. Mr. Lohan did try to reconnect with Lindsay and her siblings, but wasn’t able to do so for long as he was sentenced back to prison for another two and one half years from 2005-2007 While many children have been known to overcome parental neglect and emotional turmoil, Lindsay did not overcome this challenge. In addition to her struggles with the lack of a father figure, she had to deal with the emotions surrounding the divorce of her parents and the custody battles over her and her siblings. The relationship between Lindsay and her father, Michael, is still deficient. Lindsay is estranged from him after he spoke to the press about her recent arrest for allegedly stealing a necklace and her drug addiction. In addition to turmoil with her family, Lohan has had several romantic relationships that have received media attention. One of the most
