The mission of the Eagle Football Program is not only to develop athletic excellence, but to provide a positive and motivating environment that encourages excellence in the lives of our athletes and staff. Honor your fellow teammate in all you do. Be totally sold out to helping the players reach their full potential. As a person, student, and player. Be a great example of what we are trying to teach our players. Don’t do anything that would destroy what we are trying to build. Don’t make excuses and always work to get better. I believe if we work together we will be a great team. We put our team first. We respect one another. We be safe on and off the field. We should also be responsible for our action. During these activities I enjoyed giving back to the community which I live in and plan to continue to give back more to my community and other communities. Ultimately character to me is represented through a person through great characteristics such as responsibility, good behavior, reliability and much more. I personally believe that I am a representation of character, as a fact responsibility is something that I find to be very important to me because people such as your teachers and peers will always count on you. As well as having responsibility being reliable to my peers is something that I care much about. Being reliable to others isn’t just helping others through judgement but helping that person with rational advice which represents how much you care for them. Lastly good behavior is something that I personally strive for everyday from following the rules to being respectful, I feel like I’m doing the correct thing but I also feel like a role model to others. For example, whether I’m at work, in school, or on the basketball court, scholarship, service, leadership, and character transform me into a compassionate leader. Furthermore, National Honor Society will also continue to lead me through the rest of my life. As I head off to college, I will always have the traditional values of the four pillars to lean on. While studying in the field of nursing, I can take what I learned and apply it to my everyday life, even when helping others. Hopefully if I am successful, my leadership will rub off on others, transforming their lives as I…

The four pillars of National Honors Society, scholarship, service, leadership, and character, have paved a path for me as a student and as a person. Scholarship has taught me to strive to be the best student I can be. I use scholarship to keep up with my school work and never give up when a class is hard. I always strive for the best grade I can get and I will stop at nothing until I reach my goal. I will continue to use scholarship as I go to college and pursue my dream as a pediatric dentist. I will study, I will learn, and I will never give up no matter what happens along the way. I use service when I volunteered to help my local private school. I was never asked to do so, but I felt as if I was giving back to a school that had done so much…

Students everywhere are being picked for honor societies in their schools. When a student learns that they have been selected for such an honor, it encourages them to maintain their standing, or even find a higher ground. I, Matthew Hurley, was ecstatic to learn that I was considered for the honor society of Fairview Schools. I am now a third quarter sophomore and through my time so far in high school, I believe I have shown the qualities of a student in the Honor Society. I strongly adhere to the thought that I represent the four pillars of an Honor Society member. I have held my grades at a high percentage, helped my community and peers by doing service to them, lead those around me to become superior in their activities that I enjoy as…

Growing up in a family with five other kids taught me to be independent and hard-working, but I also developed matronly qualities from looking after my younger siblings when my mom wasn’t home. Throughout my high school years, my personality had led me to be the mediator when my friends argued, the advisor when they had no clue what to do, and the councilor when they had problems they couldn’t talk to anyone else about. While it never occurred to me before, I recently realized that these traits will take me far in life.…

My participation in Student Government has taught me important leadership skills I will be able to carry with me throughout, not only my college career, but my nursing career. Sports has taught me that hard work, discipline, and teamwork will not only defeat any obstacle that comes my way, but with the help and encouragement of others, we can come together as one and get the job done. My extracurricular activities have taught me that with the aid of others anything is possible. Through my community service volunteering at a local housing company for the mentally disabled, I have seen first-hand what the impact one person can make on another’s life. Helping and mentoring the mentally disabled who can’t do some tasks on their own has touched my heart and changed the way I appreciate life in many different aspects. It just reminds me of how fortunate I am to be able to help other, despite the time it takes to do so. The overall time I have sacrificed to do these extracurricular activities inside and outside of school has all been well worth it. Overall, the life lessons I have learned and the change in character I have gained from these activities are gifts I will be able to carry with me in able to achieve my goal.…
