Reflection On Meals On Wheels

I changed my service project to something that I did recently in girl scouts that I loved. For this project, my Girl Scout troop and I spent four meetings, a total of six hours, making ornaments for Alachua County Meals on Wheels. Meals on Wheels is an organization that provides meals for the elderly or people that are unable to access meals. In total we made 150 Christmas ornaments. The ornaments were given with meals during the month of December. The reason why I enjoyed this project was because I knew receiving a handmade ornament would give people who may be going through hard times, joy. For this project I was responsible for creating “pom-pom ornaments.” For this ornament, I took a Styrofoam ball and glued little pom-poms all around
it, to create an ornament. Once I finished those ornaments I went around to the other stations, to help with their ornaments. For this project, I not only helped to give joy to citizens around the community, but I also learned that working together is important.
