What are the advantages and disadvantages of synchronous and asynchronous learning in an online class with students from different professions living all over the united states-just like Ashford? To be able to understand the advantages and disadvantages of Asynchronous and Synchronous, we have to know what they mean. Asynchronous learning is defined as, no set times for everyone to gather together. Synchronous learning is defined as; all students meet at the same time, even though they are in different locations. With that said the advantages of Asynchronous would be your work alone at your own pace, you set your own schedule, since students can express their thoughts without interruption, and they have more time to reflect on and respond to class materials and their classmates than in a traditional classroom. The disadvantages for some would be the fact that it is not face to face. People learn in different ways. They may need the hands on, like in a classroom setting. The advantages of Synchronous would be, you are a part of a learning group. The disadvantages would be class members as well as the instructor are aware of what you type, when you type it. This means, you don’t have time to fix any spelling and/or grammar errors.

(Hinduja & Patchin, 2006b). In my opinion, we could educate netiquette until we were blue in the face and it would not solve the problem. People today do not care
