Learning Style Assessment Essay
After completing the learning style assessment, the results revealed that I am a visual learner. My score was the highest in the visual category. These are the characteristics of a visual learner: They have strong visualization skills and they can look up (often up to the left) and “see” the information invisibly written or drawn. To add, they are able to make movies in their mind about information previously read and give vivid details. They have visual spatial skills such as sizes, shapes, texture, angles, three-dimensional depths are strong. Also, they have a keen sense of the aesthetics, the beauty of physical environment visual media, or art. I learn better by seeing graph, and charts in my notes or color coding for organization of information. Certainly, these

I love to listen to a good lecture. In fact, I am always engaging in lectures and I love listening to people talk about their lives and things they are planning to do in the future. Most Definitely, I am like a counselor among my peers. I will always take the time to listen to each individual’s problems and find a solution that will benefit them and cheer them up. How could I score so high in the visual category? I am really shocked by the results
Indeed, I believe teachers should teach in their learning style because it may help some learners to see the way concepts are taught in a different way. Every educator must remember that most classes are diverse and there will be various learning styles within the classroom. The teacher has to find a balance between the various learning styles. Some learners may learn best through listening, others visually, and some hands-on (tactile). It is important not to rely on one concrete way to get a point across. The teacher has to mix it up sometimes by addressing a variety of learning styles to get learners

I have always been a visual learner, although I did not realize the technical term for my condition as a child, once I became an educator and became aware of the various ways to classify learners based on their abilities and learning style, I quickly discovered who I was and was able to classify myself accordingly. Visual learners are more inclined to gain knowledge through physical interaction and hands on experience with tools they can see, rather than through verbal instructions or explanations. However, it has been my experience that all types of learners find visual aids helpful, even f they are just used as supplemental information to enhance the knowledge they gained through verbal communication. Visual aids, such as process flow charts, are…

Fleming developed an inventory designed to help students learn more about their individual learning preferences. Fleming’s VAK model identified three learning styles; Visual, Auditory and Kinaesthetic. According to this theory most people have a preferred learning style however some people may prefer to learn using a mixture of all three styles. As with the previous theories each style within the VAK model has individual characteristics based on their learning preferences. Visual learners learn best through seeing. They think in pictures and have intense mental images. They like to learn using maps, charts, pictures or videos. They tend to have visual skills in activities such as reading, writing, puzzle building, interpreting charts and graphs, and painting and have a good sense of direction. Auditory learners like to learn through listening. They tend to think in words rather than pictures and learn best through lectures, discussions, talking things through and hearing other people’s opinions. Auditory learners tend to have highly developed auditory skills and are generally good at speaking and presenting. They demonstrate these skills through speaking, listening, storytelling, explaining, understanding the syntax and meaning of words, remembering information and analysing language usage. Kinaesthetic learners learn best through moving, touching and doing. They find it hard to sit…

By utilizing four steps, I can effectively write an essay on the topics assigned during this program (Bethel, 2015). The first step is developing a clear point and is followed by supporting ideas. I plan to use quick notes to get my ideas down and make sure I need them. Next I need to organize my ideas to explain how I arrived at my thesis. Finally, I need to proofread my writing to omit any grammar or writing mistakes. These steps can help my writing be more concise and improve over time.…

Before taking the Learning style Quiz I would have told you that I was a visual learner. I am better with written instructions more than I am with verbal. I love when I receive handouts and diagrams. After taking this quiz I have learned that I am more of a kinesthetic learner. I always have to be hands on and doing something. What I mean by this is when I am studying I am either moving in my chair or I am using my finger as a reading guide. I always thought that it was just my ADHD that made me do this but now I have learned that it is a way of learning.…

In a recent study, I was able to determine which learning style category I fell into. Three learning style categories were discussed. Visual, Auditory and Kinesthetic Learning Styles were presented. The first part of the assessment was to go through three different lists consisting of different habits often associated with learning and studying. I was to read through each list and check off all that applied to my personal study and learning habits. When I was done, I found that I am dominantly a Visual Learner. Some of the characteristics I possess in relation to being a Visual learner are 1) I often ask for instructions to be repeated 2) I like to use maps or note cards when I review my notes 3) The best way for me to remember something is to picture it in my head. These are some…

Over the course of this year in English, I think my writing process has excelled the most along with my overall writing. In the past, I have used similar techniques to develop a final essay, but, this year, I have begin to rely more heavily on planning out and slowly chipping away at my essays and papers. I believe also that because of this planning the strength of my writing as a whole has grown. Personally, I do not think that I grew in my vocabulary usage. Overall this year, I grew as a writer in ways that I would not have predicted.…

One of the most important learning styles that aides my learning process is the visual learning style. Saying that, this learning style allows me to understand and multi task two things at the same time to solve a challenging problem. For example, in mathematics I can be adding and subtracting double denominators and changing fractions at the same time. This learning style helps me grasp the content better and enables me to enjoy it. At times it is necessary to combine more than one learning style to obtain the objective and yield a positive outcome in the learning process. When reading any new material, identifying…

#1 I feel that my writing process is very good when it comes to finding ideas and brainstorming; However, I am knowledgeable that my organizations and grammar is not the best one. I think the two main factors behind my poor grammar are the fact that English is my third language, and that I am too lazy to read books, which is an incredible source to better my grammar. When I get an assignment to write, I just start writing and don’t think about my organization or grammar because that would make me stuck with all my papers. I rather get something written down first, then go back and correct it. It is obvious that I need to work on my grammar and my organization. Something else that I need to work on is when I put a comma in sentences because…
