Rick And Murty Character Traits
Rick and Morty is an Adult Swim animated series that follows the adventures of Rick Sanchez, who is a madscientist, alcoholic, and interdemensional traveler and and his grandson Morty Smith, a fourteen year old naive, nervous wreck and who unvolunatarily gets into deeply irrepsonsible situations with his grandfather on a weekly basis. It's a more or less a cartoon parody of Back to the Fututre, except in this rendition, Doc is is a rude, functional drunk and Marty is a pertubed, skiddish teenager. Overall, I find the show hilarious and entertaining, but I also find it has much more depth than that. Not just a funny show, but a show with deep psychological and existentialist themes where an estranged parental figure forces a fourteen-year-old boy to face forces beyond mortal comprehension.
Rick is the leading protagonist of the show and he stands heads and shoulders above all else in the galaxy in terms of intelligence. Able to do amazing things like bend time and space, travel to alternate demensions, and enter into the dreams of others. However, he also has a tendency to display reckless and sociapathic behavior, and holds one of the darkest outlooks on life I've ever seen illustarted on television. Rick is

When Certain situations get sticky, Rick is confident and self-assured, while Morty is unsettled and jittery. When Rick has convinced himself that he has a great idea that could be considered immoral, Morty is the first one reluctant to carry it out. Morty most of the time is good-natured and tries to reinforces this by being a do-gooder, however most of his attempts are always thwarted and sometimes lead to even worse situations. Morty is a young teenager who has short brown hair worn neatly combed around his head, and wears a yellow shirt with blue pants. He also has a pronounced stutter and his voice is constantly breaking as a result of

Rick Blanie has very strong visual and verbal elements that relate to his character. He isolates himself by choice by choosing not to have a drink with customers. When we first meet Rick Blaine, we see he’s a serious and authoritative man, his expression dour as he drinks and plays chess alone. He’s the boss; nothing goes without Rick’s “ok”. As an authority figure, Rick doesn’t fear any other authority like Major Heinrich Strasser, the Nazi SS Officer who comes to Rick's Café Américain to catch a fugitive and at the same time question Rick about his past. The character study essay I wrote for A Prayer for Owen Meany, by John Irving clearly demonstrates my knowledge of John Wheelwright and the text as a whole. I was able to dissect his personality, his relationships, and how he reacted to different conflicts. John Wheelright is not the main character, or protagonist, in A Prayer for Owen Meany, he is the narrator, which made it much more of a challenge to determine his personality. I had to understand the conflicts of the story and how John responded to them in order to determine his personality traits. For example, I determined he was curious because he seemed to feel almost as much resentment as sadness when his mom died. He felt this resentment because he had always been curious as to who…

When the reader is introduced to Rick in the beginning chapters of the novel, he and his wife are planning their day emotionally on a machine that they had brought. This machine is referred to in the novel as a Penfield mood organ. The mood organ is able to control all emotions from despair to one’s want to have sex. It is technology like the mood organ that is allowing humans to become desensitized to the world around them. Dick is toying with the idea that humans do not fully know or comprehend the consequences of the technology they are creating. The ones who created the mood organ did not know that it would desensitize the user; they just wanted to assist in controlling emotional responses. The technology such as the Penfield mood organ…

In the short story “The Fastest Runner on Sixty-first street” by James T.Farrell, the central character Morty is described as a self-confident and popular boy, proud of his achievements as fastest and dedicated runner and skater. Other fellows liked Morty and they would say “there’s a damn good kid and a damned fast runner” (217). Morty has many friends but he still became friends with Tony. Morty appreciates his friendship with Tony and becomes his protector. He begins to like Tony and “to look on him as a big brother. He’d always wanted a brother.” (220) Morty supports Tony in many ways, even if he sometimes dislikes Tony’s aggressions towards others. Morty is very self-confident and has already made plans for his future. Morty “lived in a world where he was somebody, and he was going into a bigger world where he would still be somebody” (222). Although Morty is a very self-confident person he participates in many fights, even if his character is equilibrated and friendly. The friendship with Tony influences him profoundly. Even stable characters can be influenced by racism, if they want to belong to a certain group.…
