“Romeo and Juliet” In William Shakespeare`s play, “Romeo and Juliet”, is a story about two-star crossed lovers that must hide their deep love for each-other because of bad blood between the Montague’s, and Capulet’s .Romeo`s relationship with his parents is strong, on the other hand, Juliet is closer to the nurse than her own parents .Romeos parents are concerned for his happiness, and want what’s best for him. Juliet’s father, Capulet, truly loves his daughter yet isn’t aware of her thoughts or feelings .He wants what’s best for her, but on his own terms. Her Mother is impotent at raising her, leaving the job to Juliet’s nurse, who also wants to see Juliet marry Paris In the Play, “Romeo and Juliet”, Juliet`s relationship with her parents is very different from Romeos relationship with his parents .Romeos parents are both loving and understanding of his feelings. For example, on lines (210-211) it says, “Alas, my liege, my wife is dead tonight! Grief of my son`s exile hath stopped her breath”. This shows that even though Romeo and his parents aren’t that close, it still caused the grief of the father, and death of the mother. The relationship between Juliet and her parents is much different. For example, on lines (80-88) Lady Capulet is trying to convince Juliet to marry Paris because Juliet is already considered “old”, and because Paris has the looks, and money. For example, on lines (act I, sc.II, ln.77) Lady says, “Verona`s summer hath not such a flower”. This shows that her mother is more worried about marrying her off to a guy that has the looks and money, instead of letting Juliet choose what, and who she wants. I believe that in the modern sense Romeo and Juliet are rebellious. This is because now at days people wait until they’re older to get married, and start a family. However Romeo and Juliet ran off as teenagers, and got married without their parents blessing. In our time marriage as a
