When Juliet came sobbing to Friar Laurence, the Friar had a choice to make. He had to choice to help Juliet with her feeling or help Juliet my faking her own death. That was a tough decision on his part knowing that he is uncertain if the potion will work or not. He had to think quick and he just couldn’t pick blindfolded. So he had to think what was the better option and he did think the potion will be the best choice. Going on with the story, Juliet had somewhat the same conflict too. When the Friar gave the potion to Juliet she had to think to herself. Is this the right thing to do? What happens if I will never wake up? What if it doesn’t work and I have to get married to Paris? She had to make a decision and believe that it will work and so it did. If she didn’t take the potion because she was scared it wasn't going to work she may have had to marry Paris or she could have killed her self to get the wait over
