I want to always stay by Jesus’s side like he did. I want to be willing to die to be with God. St. John was known as the beloved apostle, so I want to be loved by God as well, and hope that I can love God. St. John was given the revelation of the symbolic signs of the apocalypse. Only two weeks ago I was asked to facilitate a phase four session with one of our patients and her family. The family informed the staff that they were of the Roman Catholic faith. One of the daughters, son-in-law, and I discussed their beliefs and how their specific belief system gives them hope and peace during their time of loss. Being knowledgeable about different religious faiths allows the social worker to be informed and sensitive about the client’s feelings and desires. This also allows the social worker to use strength-based approaches to focus on the positive nature of their faith, for example seeing their loved one…

I enjoyed helping on service day at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. With my family by my side we cleaned the campus grounds, worked inside the sanctuary cleaning and polishing pews. I met many people from the parish and made friendships. After service day I felt pride, and had fun spending time helping the church, but I realized I wasn’t a member of the church. I spoke to my parents about how passionately my siblings and I wanted to become parishioners. We are a Christian family that believes in God, but it was a huge commitment to become Catholic and join the church.…

Another reason my older sister is my favorite sister is that she is compassionate. She has great sympathy for other people’s suffering. For instance, she often tries to help poor and homeless people by donating food, clothes, money, etc. She used to work as a volunteer for in a school for the blind children in Vietnam. I still remember when I saw her taught those children to read by touching the special characters. She patiently held her students’ hand and instructed them. Although it was not an easy job, her face was always radiant with smiles. She often told me to give what I got, and to feel happy helping others. My sister cares deeply about other people more than herself.…
