Review:
After not being able to decide which restaurant to review, I decided to download the Yelp! App on my phone and have it decide for me. I loaded up the App, clicked “Nearby,” chose the restaurant with the most reviews and I was on my way. Yelp! took me to the San Diego Chicken Pie Shop. Before entering the restaurant, it was difficult to find parking which his always a sign of a good restaurant. Once you find parking and enter the restaurant, you are greeted by the delicious smell of fresh chicken pot pies and by an older waitress who quickly seats you. You can choose to dine in or take out. The time was around noon, the place was packed, and the décor looked like it hadn’t been updated since 1985. Most of the patrons were older folk that look like they have been coming here for a very long time. They had some posters on the wall, but one of them caught my attention. It was a blown up picture of a very old menu when the prices were only 45 cents for a pie dinner. I looked at the current menu and decided to go with that same exact pie dinner, except that it is now 7 dollars.
After a few more minutes, the waitress who seated me came back to take my order. I ordered the pie dinner and literally 4 minutes later, I had a full pie dinner

As my family and I stepped d in, we were greeted and welcomed with loud beautiful music, which older families wouldn’t enjoy. I stood head to toe with the overwhelming menu of countless different meal choices. It was nicely dressed in a antique wrap of design around the edges. Each menu choice was separated in categories labeled with elegant and beautiful text, which made me love this place with more passion. I didn’t have one thought of my first choice of a meal for the night. To get saved from the black hole of the Riscky's menu was the generous waiter dressed in a formal manner. She walked up to our smooth wood grain finish table and greeted us with pure sincere gratitude knowing that we didn’t have one clue of what to order. She explained her favorite dish on the menu and I was absolutely certain It was soon to be my favorite as well.…

Complaining that he couldn’t read because of the dim lighting (though I would’ve complained about the small seating area that was barely substantial enough to fit all of our meals with our large drinks), food being too expensive, and the bread did not tasting that good, our highly customer praised avocado egg roll appetizer was mediocre and only tasted good when dipped in the “green sauce” as he puts it. I ate the most of the appetizer, and I couldn’t necessarily agree with him about sauce as it made sweeter. He also split a dish between him and my older sister which although had flavor was not that good, I couldn’t give an opinion myself only because I was busy munching away at my dish. The Crispy Chicken Costoletta did not meet the expectations between the two of…

    In-N-Out Customer Service

In observation 5, a typical couple in there mid 30’s arrives embracing each other coming in to enjoy a nice dinner. The kind associate greets them with a smile and politely takes their order. This may seem like any other ordinary behavior at In-N-Out, but immediately after this couple finishes taking their order, a family of six arrives. This family consists of 2 adults, 2 kids and 2 elders. As stated in observation 6, the associate was extremely nice, far more polite to this family then the previous couple mentioned in observation 5 especially to the elders. The associate offered extra help and ensured the order was taken correctly. This isn’t the only occurrence of this happening. In fact, a similar incident happens in observations 23 and 26. During observation 23, a teenager takes a more than a few minutes to order. The associate doesn’t complain directly, but the expression on his face explains it all. A few minutes later, two elderly females come in for lunch (observation 26). They seem to take just as much time as the teenager did as mentioned in observation 23 but this time; the associate’s smile does not come off his face. He seems delighted to wait as long as the two needed. According to my results, 4 out of the 5 elders that were served had first-rate…

On April 12, 2017 I attended a dinner at Case Martinez along with the deaf community. Thank you for allowing us to have this time out of class for extra credit. Unlike, my other experience at Pie Fie I was not able to sit at the same time with the rest of the group due to the fact that I got off of work until 5:20 & this event started at 5:30. During this experience I was able to observe a lot. The waitress as Case Martinez have menu cards made for the deaf community. The waitress handed out note cards with the entrée listed on it to make the ordering process easier. Basically, when they were ready to order they just gave her a 2 note cards, one was the dinner entrée and the other was the side. The only issue I could see with this method is…

I strolled up the walkway to the front door and noticed a line of people standing outside. A young, smiling hostess greeted me asking what I wanted and I said a pie. Her smile faded when she pointed at the line of people, “So do they.” My jaw dropped and head automatically turned to the crowd who stared with lifeless expressions. Then she asked, “Do you have a reservation for a pie?” Almost speechless, I said, “Do I need one?” She held up a blue pad and said, “Yes, ma’am. Some of these people reserved pies weeks ago, but without a reservation, you may not get a pie today?”Again, my head turned to look at the pie people proudly holding their reservation slips. The hostess tried to speak but I just limped away past the blue slips blowing in the…

Walking into a fast food joint, one expects to be met by a sweet aroma of the delicious foods that are quite appealing. Considering they are supposed to serve customers as fast as they can while at the same time maintaining quality service. Upon entering a fast food restaurant, one would expect to have a view of the whole place in a glance, with counters just around the bend for customers to make their purchase. One would also expect to find people around helping customers make fast purchases as well as clearing tables for people to eat. Without such quality, a fast food restaurant cannot be up to par. Burger King is the fast food restaurant I visited a few days ago, and fortunately did not disappoint my expectations; rather, I was surprised by their smooth, fast service and tasty foods as well as the restaurant itself.…

Recently I had the opportunity to visit Dickie Brennan’s Bourbon House located at 144 Bourbon Street for my grandfather’s 73rd birthday luncheon celebration. My mother selected this restaurant for its great seafood and authentic New Orleans dishes. She had booked a reservation for a party of seven, and this was my first time at the establishment. I thought it was going to be another French quarter hole in the wall restaurant with concrete floors and shoddy decor; however, I was pleasantly surprised.…
