My most recent position was as an Insurance Verification Specialist with Banner Health. I resigned from that position due to their collections practices and lack of what I felt was a genuine concern for the care of patients as paramount.
I am a 2014 graduate of the Health Information Services diploma program at
Southeast Technical Institute in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. I have also obtained an
Associate’s Degree in Accounting from STI. I have a vast amount of educational training in patient relations,
coding, billing, medical terminology, as well as anatomy; and have completed my internship with Avera McKennan Hospital where I was hired as an Insurance Specialist shortly after my graduation in 2014. I moved to the Tucson area, Benson AZ, in January of 2016 because I was ready to be in a warmer climate after 27 years in South Dakota!
I have included my current resume, which I believe you will find to give a very good overview of the educational, work, and life skills that I have attained; while also demonstrating my reliability and dedication to my work. I can also provide several letters of recommendation from co-workers at Avera, as well as from my prior department head. I have several years of experience in health insurance as an Insurance Verification
Specialist, both with government & commercial insurance. I have obtained my
Health Information Management diploma and also have an Associate’s Degree in
Accounting, so I have spent quite a bit of my life obtaining education and know what that is like to do. I have managed two different types of businesses, and I am very much a people person. I am an excellent articulator and I really feel the need to help others.
