The main setting of Seventh Grade by Gary Soto was in French class where Victor said random words that sounded french to impress this girl named Teresa that he liked. In my opinion, I think this is the most important setting of the story because Teresa asked Victor to help her with her french. I know this because in the text it stated, “Teresa asked him if he would help her with her French.” This also means that Victor and Teresa would hangout after school. The main setting of Charles by Shirley Jackson was at the lunch table at home where Laurie told his parents about this really bad kid that was named Charles but Charles was secretly the boy Laurie. In my opinion, I think this is the most important setting in the story because if Laurie never told his parents about Charles they would’ve never found out that Charles was secretly Laurie. I know this because in the text it states that, “you must have your hands full in that kindergarten with Charles.”
