We were up to bat first. their was a guy that was up he hit one to the outfield, and he got a single.my other team mate was up to bat and swong at two of them.He had one more strike and he was out. But he managed to hit a line drive and got a single. I was up to bat next I was a little nervous. I was up and I swung at one. My coach gave me the bunt sign I forgot what it was.So I swang st it and hit it to the fence and got a double. The next drive we had was a good one. We were down by two.
It was the third inning we were still

Since I was 7 years old, I have always participated in Greenwich’s very own Cardinal Baseball Camp. However, until last summer, I had always been one of the campers. This year I was an official volunteer of the camp. Everyday from 8 a.m. till 12 p.m., me and approximately 30 other staff members at the camp would teach young kids how to play baseball. This camp is run very locally, and it is very personalized, something that should truly be valued in a large town like Greenwich. Although not perfect, this is the best camp in town, and it will continue to stay that way as it continues to improve itself. The Greenwich Cardinal Baseball Camp is a very effective place for kids to go and not only learn the game of baseball, but meet new friends,…

I attended every all-star practice before our first game and was hungry with anticipation. The all-star tournament was single elimination, so if we lost even a single game it would all be over. I had some really good friends on the team although I was probably one of the least skilled players. We practiced nearly every day the two weeks before our first game. My excitement was steadily increasing with every practice.…

Everybody from the team was there at the field. If you looked at our team you might think that we were just a bunch of small town screw-offs. We definitely gave the other team that impression as we warmed up. Our team didn’t take things too seriously. In the batting cages, we practiced our home run swings, and trots. The infielders, including me, bare handed the ground balls hit to us by one of the coaches, and jump threw the ball back to the first baseman pretending we were young Derek Jeters. The outfield dove at every ball that was hit at them. Even if the ball was coming straight at them, they ran back and come forward again so they could dive and get the ball. Yes, we were a bunch of…

Everyone got in a line, and coach told us who was going to do the PKs. She called on Damien, Dominic, Evan, Bash, and me. Damien went up to the line while the other team's goalie got ready to block it. Damien kicked the ball right at the corner of the goal and the ball went in. We all cheered loudly and then waited tensely as Damien then got ready to be goalie. The other team's kicker went up to the line and kicked it right at Damien so he blocked it easily. Next, I was up to kick. I kicked it to the bottom left corner of the goal and…

Then we got down to business and took the field. Keegan started pitching the ball to me. Soon enough the ump said “balls in”, which meant I had to throw the ball down to second base, so the game could start. It was a pretty quick inning because nobody could get a hit off of Keegan.…

After we warmed up it was time to play the final game. We were the home team so we were in the field first. I was playing center field and it was so hot outside that I felt like I was going to melt. When the umpire yelled, ”Play Ball!” I jumped up on my feet and was ready for the first pitch. On the very first pitch the batter hit the ball straight to me. I watched the ball go up in the air and I was putting my glove up in the air ready to catch the ball but then I lost track of it. My sunglasses did not help me with the sun. I was trying to find the ball, but then SMACK! The ball hit me straight in the mouth and I fell to the ground like a sack of…

“My pack is old Alwyn, older than most, but Hale paid no heed to our age. It was a mistake. Our memory is ancient and we have legends and truths that have long since been forgotten. Foolish Hale. If they had recalled how we obtained our name, they would have left a sleeping dragon alone and I would not be here.” (Actions and so forth.) “Any fool can make a rule. And any fool will mind it. The rules that they made, we followed some, but we are not asinine. Many of their rules were useless to us, more like guidelines that told of to be careful, and we were. At home no human harmed us they were our kin and we protected each other. But to some these broke the Hale’s rules.” (Actions and shit) “When you seek revenge, dig two graves. The night my…

I will always remember the kids that were playing there and I think that some of those kids would go to the mlb. So me and my dad finally arrived at the ballparks and I then rolled my bag over to where my team was staying. I then slowly walked over to my team and began to greet them. My coach looked really familiar and he was bald and wearing these shaded glasses. I also remember one of the kids named Derek who went and tossed with me in the grass on one the fields we were by and every time he went up to bat he would use a wooden bat and he hit very well in each game. We then played 2 games, one against white and one against gray. It was very funny playing the white team because Johnny, Logan, and Nick were all on that team (they used to be on the same team). Anyway, my team did well and we won against white team but lost to the gray team. I was ⅗ as an average in each game. So now on to the exciting part. The very next day, there were these challenges that everybody did called Golden Arm, Base Running, and the Homerun Derby. I decided to do the Golden Arm and the Base Running. In the base running, I didn’t do so well (the guy in first was a minute faster than me), but in the Golden Arm, that is a different story. So basically you had to stand in front of the mound and…

    My Baseball Moment

It was a week away and surprisingly I was calm for the upcoming event. Usually I would be nervous from the top of my head all the way down to the bottom of my toes, but I had so much confidence that it was inspiring to others. Knowing that the big day was 2 days away, of course I had to go out and buy new equipment so I could not play the part, but also look the part. Shortly after buying a new Nike helmet, Swingman batting gloves and a brand new solid pro maple SamBat I immediately went to the cages. The bat had the biggest sweet spot and the most pop out of all my bats. The ball hitting of the barrel sounded like gunshots. I felt like taking a million swings, but I knew if I stayed there for a long time I would be a little tired for the big day so I only took 100 swings and called it a day. Finally the next day I woke up to the sound of my alarm clock with the mindset of determination. I quickly got dressed in the proper sports attire and fled out the house with my brother. On the way there I had the speakers on blast playing the most inspiring and highest BPM songs I had on my play-list. After arriving to the parking lot I had walked to the front entrance of the stadium where they had given me a shirt with a specific number and a cap so it could be worn on the field. After suiting up and taking the first step on the field, the amazing view of the inside of a baseball stadium had me speechless. Knowing that professionals play here too had me feeling proud that I was doing something with my life and that hopefully it was going to lead me somewhere better. Before starting all the drills and the showcasing of the performance of the players, the commissioner of the league had a few words to say. Shortly after the speech was done, we had finally started to begin! Everyone was split into different groups. Some kids were hitting, some were pitching, and some were taking ground balls. I was put into the hitting…

Her pack had lived here for centuries. What had once been a beautiful empty cavern, was now an even more beautiful city, carved into the rock and crystals of the cave, fashioned around a clear pool of water that spread to the rock's edge, crashing over in gorgeous waterfall's. It had taken many decades to create the home they lived in now, when the first ancestors stumbled upon this beauty. And now it was Tatiana of House Astor, daughter of King Issac home.…
