1. Be able to address the range of communication requirements in own role
1.1. Review the range of groups and individuals whose communication needs must be addressed in own job role.
There are a wide range of individuals whose communication needs must be addressed within own job role. It is important within my job role that I communicate with many varied groups. On a daily basis I communicate with individuals and their families in order to deal with any queries or concerns regarding the support we provide. I also communicate with external agencies such as Social Services, advocates, learning disability team to discuss concerns regarding the individuals health and well being. On occasions I may be required to contact other medical professionals in order to make referrals on behalf of or at the request of the individual. In addition to these I am from time to time required to attend multi-disciplinary meetings to discuss how support has had an effect on the individual and whether the individual is receiving the correct support. It is also important to maintain good communication with staff on a daily basis, so they feel they are able to seek advice and express any concerns they may have and I will communicate my own needs or concerns to my manager as and when necessary.

As a registered manager for adults it is important to have good communication skills to develop positive relationships and share information with the people who use the services and their family members. I also need to be able to communicate well with work colleagues and other professionals.
