Parents that have the money to enroll their child might if their child is not doing well in School, but others know their children are doing well and want their child to have a break for them to relax, and recuperate. The students can suffer from short attention span because they have been in School for so long without a proper break. “In Counterpoint: Year-Round School Causes More Problems than it Resolves” it says “These schools had found very little difference in academic achievement between modified and conventional school year programs. Scientific reports on human retention also note that it does not take two or three months to lose memory of new information-it only takes two or three weeks. Therefore, teachers still have to review the material with [year round school students] YRS after their scheduled breaks.” (Pearson) This is basically saying that Year Round School has little to no benefit for students. If anything, it makes students tired of re-learning the same thing over and over again after a break (which are short frequent ones). Other costs include extra burdens on administration, facilities upkeep, and possible extra costs to keep cafeterias and school buses running throughout the year.” (Pearson) As stated in the Article there is a lot to pay for and it is not good for those who are already on a financial budget, it just causes more problems for the family that the student is part of. Not to mention, summer camp/childcare would be less expensive at this point if the parents of students have to pay all that money to the School. In the article “Point: The Benefits of Year-Round Education” it says “The shorter vacations provided by year-round education and intersession class opportunities during the short vacations (often a less-expensive alternative to childcare or summer camp) are helpful to today's working parents. Additionally, parents and teachers enjoy the option to schedule vacations during off-seasons, when travel costs are lower and many destinations are
