The first reason kids should not be having longer school days is because kids will be exhausted.Most kids are all ready having 7-8 hours of school. Another few hours, and they will be at school for around 10-11 hours. Also by the time kids come home it will be around 5:00 P.M. Then When kids get home they will have lots of school homework, and extracurricular homework like Kumon, ENOPI practicing dance, or others. Another thing is, sleep. There are over 100 schools in a district, and it takes 1 million dollars to just make school days longer in 50 schools. 50 might sounds like a lot, but there are more than 100 schools in a district and 50 is barely half. Also teachers have after school clubs to entertain kids ,and for that they need to buy more stuff to use. Teachers also need for technology to teach more if school days are longer. We already used around 1,000 dollars to just have around 8 hours of school. Is it really worth more money for just a few more hours?
As you can see, schools should not be longer. Kids learning thing, they will lose social skills, and it's way too expensive. What's the use of using so much money is kids don't participate in Word? it's not only that teachers will lose their job because kids are learning and parents will take them out of school. Even though some people say they might learn more, doesn't make it
