My first reason is that if you spend so much time with your dog then you grow to love them and never want to leave their side. Just like Jose and Zenit when Jose was injured he woke up yelling for Zinet but Zenit did not belong to him anymore. He said that nothing felt right without Zenit. Jose went up …show more content…
to Zenit and Zenit recognizing Jose Zenit covered him in slobbery kisses. So that is one reason I think they should be able to keep the dogs they train.
My second reason is that if a person gets injured he or she should be able to keep his or her dog at their side no matter what. In the magazine Jose had nightmares and he was thrashing and calling for Zenit but N103 was not his dog anymore. So this is why I think the people like Jose should keep their dog they trained.Like the part when he stepped on an IED he asked do I still have my legs and where is Zenit. I think Zenit should have been able to go home with Jose but he did not he was assigned to a different handler. So that it what i think.
I know that some people might think differently then me so if they do here is why.
First people might think that the dogs would need to stay with the marines because what if they need dogs to sniff out more IEDs and all the dogs are gone and a lot of lives lost. Next if all the dogs were adopted and a war starts then who is going to help the soldiers out when they need help. Last who is going to be trained to help out the other people. so that is why other people might choose differently.
So my opinion is that the dog trainers should be able to keep protect and respect their dogs they trained. What would you do if your were in Jose's shoes and had to leave your dog behind and not be able to see him at all. If i was Jose I would want to be able to see my dog all the time just like he wanted to. If i were a dog trainer I would want to keep my dog because I would have grown to love him just like Jose did wirth Zenit. So that is my opinion why the services man and women should be able to keep the dogs they
trained.
