When you post something on the internet, it is understood that anyone can see it and use it for or against you. People know that whatever they post could be seen by potential bosses, friends, and parents. Therefore, no one should be posting things that they wouldn't want their grandma to see, let alone things that could get the FBI sent after them. Anyone who is proficient at hacking can monitor the internet, so why shouldn't the government be able to? People who have nothing to hide should not worry about being monitored by the government since they are choosing to post things for the public to see. …show more content…
The first amendment protects the privacy of beliefs, the fourth amendment protects against unreasonable search and seizure, and the fifth amendment protects the privacy of personal information. All of these protections are made to keep the government from disturbing people's personal lives. However, things posted on the internet are not personal, they are public. The constitution allows for the monitoring of public areas, otherwise, how could laws be enforced? There is a delicate balance between freedom and peace and our government does a pretty good job of keeping that
