Sinek Vs Greek
When a consumer buys a product, they think it is the best option out there because the advertisement told them. However, there are many products out there that do the same thing but consumers never buy it. This is because companies do not know how to present themselves or their products. Ad companies have a tough job because they must come up with clever ways to get people to buy their clients’ products. Ads work to get people to spend their money and increase profits for business owners. Business owners would benefit from Simon Sinek’s talk “How Great Leaders Inspire Action,” because he talks about how to get people to buy the product by presenting the product, how to deliver the product correctly, and proof that consumers go for the “unique” …show more content…
Sinek states that this is real science, or should I say biology, because of the parts what, how, and why make up three components of our brains. He goes on and explains that the “neo cortex is the what in our brain and the two inner parts called limbic is responsible for the how and why” (Sinek, “How Great Leaders Inspire Action). All Sinek is telling us is the truth turns out the limbic portion of our brain is responsible for feelings. Feelings play a huge portion to a consumer because it gets them to either trust that the company knows what they are doing or they do not. When getting a consumer on board they are going to go quickly for that product they may not say a word but their brain is doing all the thinking. Sinek gives a great example from the Wright Brothers and their competitors Samuel Pierpont Langley. He goes on about how Langley got a grant from the War department while the Wright Brothers had no money. The Wright Brothers had a passion for what they believed in they continued to work even after their fails because of what their brains were feelings. As soon as the Wright brothers were the first one to fly Langley decided to just give up. While many business owners think that just because other businesses are thriving that they should just give up. When dealing with presentation it is not about just saying the words on the screen it is about how to showcase it to make it more desirable for the consumers. The same thing goes for telling how your product is different than all the other competitors out there. When thinking that there is no data that shows that all of this can improve companies think again. There have been studies liking back to the part of your brain that just wants to shop. As consumers, all they see is the same product with subtle differences but if you change the way you present it then the product becomes more desirable. Focus on why you do what you do and showcase that to everyone so they can do what you

    In “The Hard Sell: Advertising in America”, Bill Bryson gives specific insight on the necessity of being more aware of why you buy what you buy. Bryson argues that the product name must be short, simple and unique. He states, “First. It is short. Second. It is not capable of mispronunciation. Third.     They describe the true goal of ads and commercials is to persuade the consumer to persuade themselves. People, especially consumers, want to feel like they have the power. Power is a driving force in many actions throughout various aspects of modern society.
