Siplon Family Scholarship Essay
I am writing to express my interest in being considered to receive the Siplon Family Foundation Scholarship. I believe I am qualified to receive this scholarship because I come from a low-income family. My parents divorced since I was 3 years of age. My dad gave me all the support I need since I was little. But that doesn’t stopping me from getting an education.
My passion to go to college and get a Bachelor degree has been my inspiration since I was little. I am an over-achiever. For example, I maintained a 3.51 GPA throughout high school while volunteering with many organizations. I am also involved with honoring programs at my school. As a junior I won the Best Student Citizen award, which is usually reserved, for the best seniors who exhibit

He is honest, kind, and genuinely cares about other people. His attitude of service shined in our summer internship program as he worked with other kids and youth from our community. His exemplary work ethic is displayed in the way he overcame language and cultural barriers to flourish academically as a young teen, new to the United States. Oscar is pursuing excellence in his personal and academic life in ways that are not common among youth in the urban core. I believe that Oscar is only beginning to tap into his potential, both academically and as a person.” I’m not just focusing on getting an education, but also I encourage others to be and fight for what they want.
