Developing a proper sleep schedule is a challenging task for college students around the world, and it is imperative that we become informed on the importance of having time-management, regulating the number of activities you are involved in, and setting up a daily routine in order to stay on top of things given the hectic lives we face as students in order to reduce the effects of sleep deprivation.
Purpose, audience, and form:
This is an issue that is very relevant to the life of students at Gonzaga University, as well as college campuses across the world. The majority of college students are not getting at least 8 hours of sleep per day, and it can play a significant role on a student’s performance both in and out of the classroom. Given my own personal challenges in finding an adequate amount of sleep, I found out personally how substantial of an impact the amount of sleep I was getting was having on my life and I began to realize how differently I functioned when getting eight hours of sleep in comparison to the days when I was not. In this article, they address the many causes and negative effects that sleep deprivation has on college students. They include several percentages and data that was obtained through various studies when addressing the several issues behind a lack of sleep for college students.
