That night, I once again woke up from my fitful sleep and decided to walk it off, but when I came downstairs, feeling the touch of the wooden handrail, and the pair of survivors on watch didn't wave back to me, or even blink. I exited the house, and the wind whistled as the world froze, and — suddenly there was a glimpse of someone darting through the streets. They were a cat - they moved lithely and disappeared from sight for a few seconds, then reappeared…
It is easy to assume there is one kind of sloth. In fact there are six; all of them are closely related to armadillos and anteaters. In this essay I will show you the main differences between the two main species; two-toed and three-toed sloths.…
An ecological organization completed a data analysis on the biological diversity in Central America. The organization completed an inventory of two species of sloths in order to observe for regular and irregular movement patterns of sloths. There are two types of sloths that are predominant in the area which is observed. Both these sloths choose niches based on their movement patterns and their preferences for biotic and abiotic factors.…
Sloths are unique creatures that are completely different from all other animals. They live in the tops of trees in the rain forests and jungles in South America. At the tops of the trees they don’t move or make noise in order to remain hidden from predators. By moving slowly or not at all predators don't notice them and can't find them. The two different types of sloths are the two toed sloth and the three toed sloth. The two toed sloth has brown fur and a pink pig snout. The three toed sloth has gray fur a white face and black fur around the eyes. The sloth is a creature unlike any other and are very interesting.…
We kept on walking for the whole day until sundown through the flat valley, stopping every once and a while to rest. Then we saw a lake with many fish and mastodons in the distance. We threw our nets into the water, while some people watched the mammoths. We walked towards the mastodons after catching some fish. The mastodons started screaming and I thought ‘Did they see us?’…
Thank you for inquiring your data to our organization. We have completed an inventory of the biological diversity in Central America and interpreted the distribution of the Choloepus hoffmanni (two-toed sloth) and Bradypus variegatus (brown-throated three-toed sloths). The possible locations the sloths could be located are, agriculture (AG), low land old growth (LL OG), low land secondary forest (LL SF), mountainous old growth (MTN OG), mountainous secondary forest (MTN SF), and finally clear cut (CC). Our organization totals there to be a total 136 sloths to be in AG, 144 sloths in LL SF, and finally 75 sloths in LL OG. On the other hand, there are no sloths found in MTN OG, MTN SF, and CC. Given the data regarding the location of both the…
So we decided to go find somewhere to park the boat for lunch. Eventually we found this really cool cave that had plenty of room to put the boat under, and we got out the sandwich stuff. It’s kind of a tradition we have to have sandwiches when we go boating or snowmobiling. So we got out the bread, lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, meat, and pickles along with the fruit salad, and Powerades. After I had finished eating I got bored and decided to go for a swim, so I cannon balled in, and the water was even warmer inside of the cave! I just laid back on my lifejacket and floated, it was so…
My crew and I ran for the boat, and barely escaped with our lives. It was still dark, so we sailed blindly without any sense of direction. We ran aground on another island. Fortunately, this place seemed to be uninhabited. All we could see were several caves, blocked by heavy stones.…
I saw dead people on the island. I could tell who they were, hunters. Then I saw him for the first time ever. I saw the dark ARMY green fur, the wispy glossy eyes, and the big scruffy enormous belly. A chill went down my back.…
P: The moral of my fable is to be careful who you trust. E: In my fable, I used multiple examples of figurative language like similes and metaphors. This can be found in the very beginning of the fable where the term ‘’rose with the sun’’ is used to describe the sloth waking up as well as a metaphor that is used in the third sentence, reading that the rat is ‘rotten to the core’ as he has no compassion or feeling for others beside himself. The third use of figurative language is in the same sentence right after the metaphor describing the rat, the simile used compares the rat to a devious snake, very silent but sudden when they strike.…
My grandfather and his older children including my father spent almost a year gathering supplies and building a raft for their Travel. When they completed their raft they gathered few belongings and a week’s supply of food and traveled through the ocean. The first day was the easiest because they had very high hopes and their dream of America was coming true. They didn’t even notice the heat nor the choppy water; to them it seemed like the last bump on the road to a better life. The second day passed just as fast as the first day, but the third day was very different. The third day of their, at best, 5 day journey they woke up and realize that their food, which was on a smaller raft tied to the back of the main raft, was no longer there. To this day they do not know how it happened, they just assume that the waves forced the knot loose and the food drifted away. This was around the time that they started to become fearful for what might happen. The fourth day was when they began to feel intense hunger and fear. On the fifth day they realized that their trip wouldn’t come to an end soon. They realized that the current had slowed them down by at least two more days. At this point, hungry and hopeless,…
I walked around the island for around 2 hours then decided to find shelter around a viable water source that way I wouldn't die from dehydration. I glanced and saw a river leading away…
After we have prepared to start hunting,We heard the cloud it''roared like a lion'' it's going to rain everyone said, within a twinkle of an eye it started raining it rained ''cat and dog'' on us that we hid under a big tree while we were under the tree we noticed the noise on the tree was so strange then we looked up to see why birds were flying away from the tree; we saw a black big Snake we screamed so loud that the Snake started coming at us we were still screaming when we noticed John had fainted then I was wondering if the ground could just opened and swallow us because we could not leave John and we could not carry him to run while all those thought of how we are going to escape from the Snake was still going through my mind I heard the sound of a gun, then we looked behind from where it was coming from I Saw a hunter coming toward where we were standing he might have heard us screamed I thought, we looked up and couldn't find the snake. The shot from the hunter had scared it away the hunter came and told us he had being trying to kill a snake since morning and it might be the snake that was trying to scared us that was why he shot when he heard us screaming so it could make the strange thing we saw run away, John was still on the ground then the hunter carried him, he is so heavy like a log of wood the hunter said in a cool voice, and he told us to followed him to his small hut where he stays when we got to his place he brought out some medication and put it on John's…
It took me a little longer to get home considering I was still a little bit nauseous from the faint.I decided to take a break from the world (and thinking) to just go into the down under, and become nothing. It usually takes me a couple minutes to float off into my head, but today, I went there as soon as I was under my bed. I haven't been off in my own head for awhile (ever since I had met Freak), but it should’ve taken longer to get there. I was thinking that it must of been my stress of Freak and myself getting to…
Finally, my dad says “we are here,” I was very enthusiastic about getting out of the car and being able to go in water. While I was walking down towards the water, I saw about 400 different colors of swimming suits on people's bodies, shining when the sun hit them. People were having so much fun; I was able to tell by how much they were screaming of excitement. On the shiny red rocks there were girls soaking the sun into their pale white skin. Then, when I looked down in the blue fast moving water, I saw cheerful little kids going down the natural water chute, showing their pearly whites as their parent grabbed their camera.…
