Case # 2
Question 1: What steps can the Fosters take to increase sales at the Circle R Ranch? Should they enter the wedding market? What are the advantages and the disadvantages of entering this market?
In order for the Foster’s to increase sales at the Circle Ranch more option should be offered to clients. Entering the wedding market would help increase the sales. Advantages of entering into the wedding market will bring in a new group of cliental to the Circle R Ranch that may help to gain more activity during the weekends.
The disadvantages that Circle R Ranch may experience is lower revenue for events, and a cliental with different needs. Another disadvantage is that weddings are usually seasonal and over-booking of these kind of events.
Question # 2 Where should the Fosters look for new employees who are passionate about providing superior customer service? What steps should they take before they begin the employee selection process? What hiring criteria should they establish? In this type of business someone with great customer service skills would be a benefit to the ranch especially if they decide to enter into the wedding market. Employees that have had experience in the hospitality field would be a great match for the ranch. The Foster’s should establish a criteria in the hiring process for the prospective employee so show the customer service skills that they may have. Mock situation should be created for the Foster’s to observe the action of the employees dealing with the customers, this would give the Foster’s a look at who really is passionate and have the experience for the Ranch to grow.

Question # 3: How should the Foster motivate their staff to continue to provide the stellar service that sets the ranch apart from its competitors? Employee like to be recognized for what they are doing. If the Foster’s reward the excellent feedback and customer service that the employees are

    The Kudler Fine Foods Shoppers program will offer 3 different strategic programs to increase loyalty and gain profit from consumers. All three programs will take research and steps that starts off with the inventory manager (Kathy). Kathy along with three department managers make sure that research is done and information about profits, dollars sales and profits will be generated. This is done by checking the cashier’s slips daily and making sure the inventory about will also be checked daily. Inventory will be about products and what products should be used mostly for sales and what will be good for sales. Although the management team research for sales and profits for customers, they will also have to generate an intimate relationship with their customers. They will do this by tracking customer’s purchases and behavior of customers that they will learn from over time. Another service that this program will have is to “show customers how to prepare specialty foods”, Kudler Fine Foods (2007). Costumers will want to bring others along to this and this will bring more customers into the store. Because of this action consumers will be trained by expert chefs, local celebrities, and other food experts. By training these consumers, customers will want to come to join the party and join in with the expert chefs, and celebrities. The outcome of this event will help to invite a customer with more friends and family to come just so they can participate in this food show.
