I will also practice writing and making sure that what I am writing people can understand. I will learn the active listening skills, by listening to someone and then repeating what they just told me and asking questions, to make sure that I have understood what was said. I will take notes when I need to remember vital information that is given. I will let whoever is talking, tell what they are saying without interrupting them. I will also pay attention to the other person’s body language, since it can tell me, things that the person isn’t saying or how their mood really is. The Importance of Accountability is so you know where everyone and everything is at, at all times. It is also necessary to have accountability to make sure everything and everyone that your in charge of is secure and where they are supposed to be. When you have accountability it is easier to track down people or items if you were to need a person or item for anything. Being accountable means being dependable, showing up to work and to appointments on time, meeting deadlines, being at the right place and at the right time and doing the right thing. Accountability is not only for keeping track of other people it can also mean keeping track of money, gear, legal documents, and many other things. Ways you can help improve accountability is have every person’s phone number and also the buddy system is a good way to find out where someone will be. I think the whole reason for having accountability is so we get to work on time, so we stay safe and if a person were to get into trouble someone could come and help that person out. The US Army has over 150 Military Occupational Specialties(MOS) to choose from in 30 different fields ranging from infantry, aviation, to information technology. Of all of the career paths available, only 26 are considered “combat jobs” by the Army(goarmy.com). This is one of the most powerful traits I have come to offer to my soldiers. My knowledge of military doctrine and skills is vital in my leadership philosophy. My ability to advice and mentor junior soldiers in their career is evidence of this. I was the Training Room NCO at E Co 782nd MI BN. I was able to guide soldiers down the path of success by setting up their individual career paths. We would set goals to help develop the skills they needed to be successful inside and outside of the military.
