The mission statements information should be portrayed clear and concisely. A mission statements sole purpose is to describe the company, their goals, and their employees. When a mission statement is not written correctly the readers might get confused or be disinterested in the business. This could lead to financial difficulties because people do not want to put money into something they might not understand. A mission statement can be viewed different ways if not written properly which means simple errors can lead to misinterpretation. The statement should have enough information to describe the organization but not too much to over whelm the employees or possible customers.…
Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) is a paragon of diversity in today’s American society. Our university prides itself as a place where virtually any one of any background can receive a superlative education. Every person you interact with on campus has their own special story to tell with a personality that will encapsulate you, making you feel as if you belong here. The positive and embracing aura present on campus is infectious; it instills you with a strong sense of pride in yourself and fellow rams. What is present in our university goes deeper than overpriced textbooks or endless amounts of all-nighters: we are a family and each of us has a duty to promote the wellbeing of ourselves and each other. Students and staff alike make up pillars that…
UC Irvine (UCI) was first founded in 1965. UC Irvine was one of three new Universities of California campuses established in the 1960s. UC Irvine was not named after the city it was built in, instead, the name is a reference to James Irvine, a landowner who administered the 94,000-acre Irvine Ranch. At the time, the current city of Irvine did not exist until it was incorporated in 1971. In 1964, the University purchased an additional 510 acres for housing and commercial developments. Most of the land that UCI didn’t purchase, which is now occupied by the cities of Irvine, Tustin, Newport Beach, and Newport Coast, is now held by the ‘Irvine Company’. UC Irvine's first Chancellor, Daniel G. Aldrich, developed the campus's first academic…
Mississippi State values diversity and inclusion with the residence halls, as well as through the entire university. As a Resident Advisor, I believe that students should not feel that they are treated in any way different than others. Furthermore the article that I chose is one that disregards student’s safety and comfort. This article I chose to is article. The purpose of this article would be to inform us that our words still has a problem and that not all peoples views have not…
JROTC’s mission statement has always been the constant phrase: To motivate young people to become better citizens. Providing service to others is merely one of the many ways of becoming a great citizen. In the JROTC classroom these past four years, I have blossomed into a better citizen through the skills they’ve taught me such as respect which has allowed me to successfully bring happiness to others by being so willing to lend a helping hand.…

As a school that is a solid segue beyond my homeschooling experience in the Classical Conversations model, I am enthusiastic about the possibility of attending Hillsdale College. One of the more encouraging aspects of my inquiry into the school was discovering the Hillsdale College Mission Statement. Hillsdale is one of the few schools that stand apart from the norm of secular humanism as a driving ideology in higher education. The school’s respect for our country’s Western philosophical and theological inheritance, genuine liberal arts education, and usage of precept and example to instill Christian principles stand out as key components. As with our Founding Fathers, it respects, reveres and considers the diffusion of learning and the ability to reason soundly an essential component of higher learning and preparation for adulthood in the context of these principles.…
My desire to be an Alpha man strongly revolves around the fraternity’s aims, mission statement, and vision. These principles and values of Alpha are something that resonates deeply with how I try to develop myself as a man within an academic setting as well the local community. The fraternity itself set the standard for which other Black Greek fraternities and sororities would follow as being the first inter-collegiate fraternal organization established for African-Americans with the sole purpose of mutual uplift and support. There has never been a time when Alpha Phi Alpha fell short of producing men whose leadership and service to the community made an impact on the lives of African-Americans especially the youth. This is why Alpha Phi Alpha stood out to me in a…
When I think about Virginia Commonwealth University, three words come to mind: diversity, excellence and opportunity. Attending such a college as VCU will not only help me educationally, but it will also help shape up many different aspects of my life for many years to come. From the variety of classes to the incredible diversity, VCU has the potential to shape my college years. Since I was four years old, I have always dreamt of living in the city. However, my dream was short lived seeing as how I have lived in upstate New York my whole life. Clifton Park is so closely knit to the point where everybody knows each other. VCU will thankfully change this for me by allowing me to be a part of such a diverse community. I will have the opportunity…
The honor of attending one of the Military Service Academies would be one of the highest honors to be awarded. To be afforded the opportunity to receive that type of education and training would give me the basis to meet my life goals. I have attended several excellent schools during my life and the mission statements have been "Work Study Worship" and "Service Honor God and Leadership" these have been engrained into me and I believe they have prepared me for a life in the Military. My mother has worked serving the children and families in our State and ensured I received the best education possible. I have always volunteered to help with the Foster Children and those less fortunate during the holidays and to help support the Community.…
I consider it an honor and a privilege to obtain a Masters in Urban Education at Langston University. I choose the University for several reasons. Langston’s graduate program can equip me with the necessary skills to become an effective classroom teacher. Langston’s University’s mission statement which is to strive to provide excellent post secondary education to individuals seeking knowledge, skills and attitudes that will enhance the human condition and promote a world that is peaceful, intellectual, technologically advanced and one that fulfills the needs of nations and individuals alike. The mission of the Honors College is something that represents the environment I enjoy and thrive in. Firstly, the community surrounding education and conversation is something unique and truly mesmerizing. I know that I am in a good place when my peers thoroughly enjoy discussing a multitude of topics, regardless of who they are, what they’re studying, and where they’ve come from. The Honors College is one of these places that gives everyone a voice and the ability to generate open discussions on various topics. Also, the undergraduate research that the Honors College provides will enable me to continue connecting with professors and delve into my passions within my major. Mr. Bill Robinson, an Associate Professor of Management in the Krannert School, is an example of a professor that I see myself bonding with over our interest in new product development. The opportunities to learn alongside professors and seek extra help when needed, is beneficial to learning wholeheartedly. Thirdly, the value student leadership is a wonderful aspect of the Honors College. As Claire Lee, a current Honors College student said in the informational video about leadership development within the program, “student leadership combines the academics at Purdue with the real world experience.” The ability to apply knowledge…
After attending Tarrant county college, I decided to join the Cornerstone Honors program. Over the course of a year I was exposed to the idea of being able to formulate my own ideas through rigorous course work centered, on critical thinking and analytical skills. Following the completion of the program, I was finally confident in myself as an overall person. Over the course of my first year, the Honors Texas government course had created an atmosphere where my peers and I were able to express ourselves in a positive setting and learn from each other’s perspectives. In addition, I learned to have an informed opinion about my own beliefs. As a result, I gained the confidence to run for an officer position for the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society.…
The challenges that the LGBT population face are neither new nor surprising but the need to address them is certainly relevant (Thiel, 2010). In fact, it appears that for as much progress that has been made on some campuses, there has been no progress on others. The presence of violence and harassment, as well as the desire for inclusion and justice, indicates the need for attention and research as a chilly campus climate can make for a distressing experience for LGBT students, faculty, and staff.…
As a student affairs practitioner, my mission is to give back and work hard to build the first generation community. I believe in equal opportunity for all students and the importance of having an education. I will be a leader that makes time for students which includes coaching, advising, and helping them figure out the best vision of themselves. I will create an environment where their voices are heard and help the first gen student find support to be successful.…
